so I was burning all my Bleach episodes to DVD, and I noticed at the very end of episode49 (after the credits) it gives a little Urahara profile and says he was previously 12th squad captain.
When was it said he used to be a captain? 1st and only time I could remember was in the Turn back the pendulum flashbacks.
Only time I can think it may have happened was when Aizen was explaining things to Ichigo.

Edit: yeah he was Captain only during the Pendulum times, he was promoted at the start of them and was in the process of leaving at the end

We knew he was 12th division captain a long time ago. I thought Yourichi told Ichigo during his Bankai training, but it could have been Aizen during the end of Soul Society...I forget but I am sure it was mentioned a long time ago.

I just noticed Yammy still hasnt showed up. Kubo hoping we forgot all about him? lol

I always assumed that he left Hueco Mundo after the Espada meeting to find Urahara. The best thing to showcase in an Urahara/Yammy fight would be Urahara's Bankai...but there's no way in hell he'd need to use his Bankai to defeat Yammy. I wouldn't put it past Kubo to use Yammy as an excuse to show what Urahara's taught Ichigo's friends.

I kinda' agree. I love the Vaizards, especially Shinji, but a quick look at both sides of the playing field makes me think that maybe having the Vaizard there would make it a landslide victory for the good guys. They'll probably be cavalry for when you think, "omg all the shinigami are about to die!!!1"

You can see it in the name of the torrent, nb184.torrent, which means "not bleach 184." That would be my guess anyways.

what's interesting was shinji never even used a shikai and overwhelmed (one-armed grimjaw) so makes me wonder how powerful they are once they pop out bankai with mask >_>

I cant wait to see the Vaizards show up. Although i think before that we will have to go through the rest of the pillar fights, some more of Ichi and Ulq starting at each other, some more of Aizen and Gin being awesome from behind their flame cage and various other random chapters

I think the Vaizard's are really just set-up characters for the next story arc. Meaning we won't see their full potential in this battle considering there's still a huge amount of story to be left done.

My own personal opinion is that Aizen doesn't really care about the key to the king but rather is making a key to open hell itself. We have to remember Hell is a completely different plain on its own and so is the one in which the King of Soul Society resides in. Bleach is extremely heavy on having antithesis style heroes/enemies so this is where I believe the next and possibly last story-arc will go, Hell Vs Royal Guard/Zero Squad.

I forgot about Trunks and Goten being able to go super saiyan at such a young age, was that ever explained in the anime? Was it because their parents achieved super saiyan before they were conceived?

Also some historic evil figure showing up in bleach would be really awkward lol.

they explained it. Their explanation was just that they were really strong lol.

It just seemed like every generation went Super Saiyan earlier. Gohan got it at 12. Goten was I think 7 and Trunks at 8? Pan never got it cause her "saiyan blood was too diluted" but the real reason was Toriyama didn't know how to draw a SSJ girl lol...

The whole diluted blood thing was further proved BS cause Goku Jr and Vegeta Jr were also Super Saiyans.

Just for the record, that's actually the second time his being a captain is referenced. During Ichigo's fight with Ikkaku right after they enter Soul Society, Ikkaku asks who trained him. When he says "Kisuke Urahara", Ikkaku has a quick flashback showing Urahara in his captain robes. It's in episode 26 of the anime, and chapter 87 of the manga.
