I'm pretty sure it was Urahara who explained that back when he and Yourichi were training them to first use their powers.
I'm betting there's more too it though. There's something with the town in general which probably added to the overall effect. I mean, supposedly there's so much spirit energy in the town itself that it can be used to make the King's Key. While initial powers may have came from Ichigo leaking energy, I wouldn't be surprised if just by being in that town, their powers were amplified somehow.
I always thought of that as more of a trigger. Being near him caused their own powers to manifest, but they needn't be essentially similar. They have been saying over and over and over that Chad's power is a lot like a hollow's, so I'm guessing he plans on developing the concepts of their power (and not just inexplicably leveling them up a few times) pretty soon.
I remember it saying his spirit pressure constantly pouring out awakened chads Orihime and ichigos dads power. An chads powers are hollow type while Orihime is healing. Ichigo didn't have hollow powers till after rukia left.
Ichigo's power triggered their latent powers. If Ichigo didnt leak his soul juice all over the place, odds are their powers would have stayed dormant.
dont know how some of you got that their powers are a piece of Ichigo's.
Ichigo's dad said he regained his powers from his son. His constant out pour of spirit pressure probably awakened his dads inner soul reaper. Why did his dad lost his powers in the first place is still undecided but him an urhara know each other. So that is the only lead we have to go on atm.
When he faced grandfisher. Uhraha said something and he said something along the lines that his powers woke up when ichigo's soul reaper powers did.
I maybe wrong I will try to look it up.
I can't find when he talks to uhraha after he kills grandfisher but I keep watching how he kills grandfisher. Ichigos dad does have potential to beat ulq if he has a bankai maybe.
If you ask me, Isshin showing up in the middle of Las Noches and going "Sup guys, just let take down this emo kid and save your ass real quick." would be a far worse deus ex machina than, for instance, having Orihime undergo a 'Kido transcendence' (or whatever) when Ichigo's blood touches her, lose control of her powers and erase most of the castle (which would actually be kinda cool if done properly, by the way).
Beat me too it XD
we obv have nothing better to do this morning lol
I cant wait for next weeks now
These up coming fights look promising.
Indeed :D i have wanted to see more of Ukitake and Shunsui for a long time
Wow, that was a great change of pace, was expecting more pointless battles, but what I got was the story getting back on track.

I don't mind it being Iba to try and smack some sense into Ikkaku. They've had a lot of history together (well, as much as any two non-main characters can have in this series). Iba chose to step away from the "power division" to be able to move up and be a responsible Vice Captain while Ikkaku obviously didn't want any part of that. So I think it makes sense for Iba to be the one to try and put Ikkaku in his place for failing to do his job.
Yeah you're right. I just found it funny because 5mins before Iba was the one running his ass off XD
