Actually yeah...with all the other captains there, why is Ichigo having to fight Ulq 1 vs 1? I mean, I realize that's the style of the manga, but seems odd to have 4 captains sitting around doing nothing while Ichigo goes to get his ass kicked.

Logic aside, I'm sticking with my "Orihime will reject Ulq out of existence" theory.

With Ichigo, I don't want him turning into a full hollow. I think there has to be something more to his Shinigami past and possibly the Royal Guard or King's Guards obtained this?

The full hollow thing for Ichigo is just too much of him representing evil.

what about the vaizards?

pretty sure they should be able to release into shikai and bankai like ichigo right?
that'd be nuts... hirako was pretty strong when he pulled out his mask to fight grimmjaw and he was using only his normal sword

Like 200 pages ago I said the same thing. Either Ichigo goes hollow or Orihime decides to fight for once instead of holding back and just rapes everything. Since she is always just watching and always cheering someone else on, and before Ichigo showed up shes like "im not afraid anymore, im not going to depend on others anymore" and just pulls a 180. Since in order for ichigo to win, he'd need an actual powerboost which I'd like to see in some sort of form other than just lolwin like he did with grim.

For everyone stating that Ichigo needs to suddenly pick up something awesome to beat Ulquorria, remember that Ulq himself stated that Ichigo's reiatsu was strong that his own (at times) when only in Bankai (when Ulq and Yammy first show up in the real world). So I don't think he needs a new power as such, it'll probably be explained away by his new found "determination".

On that note, anyone think that Ichigo has never really been as strong as when he first used his Bankai? When he first released it, before it fucked him up because it was too much for him, he was moving at silly speed and kicking Byakuya's ass, doesn't seem to me as that he's got back to that level even with his mask.

Anyway, I like tonight's episode a lot. Aside from the comedy crap and like 2 minutes of Orihime just saying Kurosaki-kun, the pacing was pretty good and we got little reminders of Rukia and Chad's present state.

that was when he was fighting for control over hollow ichigo. so it can be said Hollow Ichigo is stronger than Ichigo. which we already knew. and ichigo has yet to be healed since his fight with grimmjaw and when he got his ass kicked some more by Tesla and Nnoitra.

yes. everyone all the time to the point we stopped mentioning it.
since it hasnt been stated we can only guess:
1) he has to hold back so he doesnt do more damage to his body like it did to him in the byakuya fight or 2) he has to use his bankai's speed just to keep up with his opponent or the most plausible explanation, the one that answers alot of questions, 3) Kubo isn't that great of a writer/doesnt care/too lazy to explain
