lol, my memory is so blurred that when he got stabbed I thought, "oh he did the Utsusemi technique", fully thinking that's what it was actually called. I remember the day it happened in the manga and everybody was calling it Utsusemi though, good stuff.

According to ffxiclopedia:
Utsusemi means "Cicada", as in the cast off outer shell of a bug. It's a rather artistic meaning when one considers the spells' use.

So it looks like DB is translating the word to English, and MangaShare rendered it phonetically.

Wow cool, so Iwasn't just remembering wrong.

I went back and read 67 pages ago and ironically enough the anime is almost exactly one year behind. It was around Thanksgiving time last year we were on the edge of our seats waiting for the manga with the conclusions to these fights taking place in the anime now.

Also it refreshed my memory of a few badass things to come:

Was a great episode, haven't felt this excited watching bleach in a loooooong time, part of me wishes i hadnt read the manga because then the show would seem that much more awesome.

And Mayuri is freaking me out even more than he did last time i saw him.

Since they like to censor stuff (i.e. Ishida getting his stomach crushed and coughing up water instead of blood) i want to see how they handle that part where mayuri practically fucks Nemu back to life (pretty sure thats what he did)

What are you talking about? With the Shippuden pacing, every episode has 15 minutes of filler.

I may get back into watching the Bleach anime for a bit, we'll see. It wasn't a waste of 25min to watch the last episode and I imagine the next few won't be either. Just depends on how much they drag out the fights compared to actually showing them happen.

They're apparently going to animate the Pendulum arc, so that should be interesting.
