Boo! Gotta go almost a month before seeing Kenpachi using two hands. Oh well, I'm sure the other fights will be interesting enough. I also want to see what they do with the Mayuri/Nemu approach. That should prove to be interesting.

They can go pretty far on the show, I was literally lol'ing a couple weeks ago when Pesche took his sword out of his loincloth, and they show the shadows and all that when he is taking it out.

Granted this is completely different, but they can still imply a couple things.

Holy crap he tore a huge chunk of Matsumoto's body out... if you look at where it was torn... he basically ripped out everything underneath her rib to her pelvis, stopping only at her spine.

That's an injury you just don't get back up from.

Yeah its a pretty big injury... we shall wait and see. Any other series i would say she is dead for sure but with bleach i dont know lol. Like when Renji got bankai'd by byakuya and torn to shreds i was pretty sure he would die >.> and Ichigo got almost cut in half by Aizen and managed to live without much of a problem.

but... i am guessing either she really will die, or that big vaizard guy will show up randomly and be able to fix her

This is exactly why I can't/don't believe any injury is life threatening in Bleach anymore. Those examples, Momo, Rukia vs Espada...Too many times someone has had an injury that should have killed them only to live/be healed completely that I can't take it seriously anymore until someone (who isn't a "bad guy") actually dies.

Tbh I don't want Rangiku to die anyway, so I can care less if people don't die in bleach.

In fact I really don't care if people do or don't die in most series, I like several personalities - and even though it would add for more drama, they can still pull off quite a bit without it so I don't think it's a "must have" thing. Like when Orihime left with Ulq, and said goodbye to Ichigo... fuck if they can do scenes like that, I don't need to be losing main characters like I do in Naruto. Not to mention, the last 2 characters that were removed from Naruto I thought were pretty pointless and stupid to lose, not to mention not very good death scenes.

The real question is how will they handle that sequence in the anime. You can't easily gloss over disembowelment and still get the point across.

Seriously though, I think Kubo hasn't quite decided whether shinigami (and non-shinigami dead people) have to worry about biological issues like non-replacable organs. I mean, we've already seen at least one character regenerate limbs, Mayuri came back from turning into goo (although that might not count, being intentional), and things like stone and tile can apparently undergo total conversion (into "spirit particles"). Maybe there's just an overly convenient plot device like some Kido spell to enter suspended animation until someone can pump enough particles into your body to regenerate an arbitrary level of physical damage. Remember kids: the only difference between a manga universe and Calvinball is that the audience has to stay interested. So as long as we're more interested in characters living than in characters dying, they probably won't die (except for Rukia's sister, and of course Kaien-dono, but apparently that's another plot device).

Mayuri can cheat any way he wants. The Szayel fight with false organs proved that.

Also, just the presence of Orihime and Hachi can pretty much negate any death in Bleach, sans utter disintegration. After all, Orihime was able to heal that nice little hole Ulq left in Ichigo that killed him. Sort of cheapens the whole deal.

But yeah, Calvinball definitely fits.

I haven't watched any episodes of the anime in a long time... But I think I will watch the episode mayuri fucks his hoe back to life.

Not exactly true. I think it was episode 45 or 46, when Uryuu was fighting Mayuri, released his glove, then proceeded to blow Mayuri's arm off, then his enter center mass. They showed that.

They can flash the screen black and white, do what needs to be done, and then cut back to color as she is falling or whatever. They're done this on numerous occasions in many different animes.

Honestly, I was particularly shocked when they showed Kenpachi cutting Tesla in half. They didn't flash the screen or anything. It was utter annhilation. I had to watch that scene like 4 times.

What I have noticed with Bleach on TV though, is that it has gotten a lot less bloody over the past few seasons. Just go watch the whole society arc then HM stuff to see the difference. What blood they have shown is more black than red. It's just nitpicking. It doesn't take much away from the anime, but would be cool to see it go back to being a bit bloodier.

Would the new time slot have anything to do with the blood pigment? I mean, I could at least see when Uuryu's stomach got crushed a bunch of stomach acid and shit could've shot up like barfing, but nothing else truly odd is really springing to mind.

This fight was pretty boring to me in the manga, and it's anime form was just as boring to me. Mayuri's fight isn't fantastic as far as fighting itself goes, just a lot more interesting. Also, for one of the main episodes, the animation really seemed kinda meh.

I wonder how long before they go back to fillers. I think they're at chapter 302 manga wise in the anime, 337 chapters total counting this weeks. 35 chapters = about 20 episodes, if stretched out. Or they can make one per episode.. but they'd have to add a lot of filler stuff. Easily enough done with fights. I think they'll either go to the Turn Back the Pendulum arc or when Ichigo and Ulquiorra are about to fight, and they cut to town before they start more filler.
