Sounds like they're definitely drawing it out then. So long as it's entertaining and overall sticks to manga when it comes to actual story progression, I'm not going to complain. I'd prefer this to random fillers.

not me. I like my filler and story seperate. much easier to leave out the episodes when burning them to dvd

Edit - Just finished watching. I enjoyed the ep. It covers the first chapter of the Pendulum arc and adds some extra content to fill in the holes that the manga skipped over with a little comedy. Thus far they're not straying from the manga at all and the stuff they added in makes sense with everything else we've seen. I liked the slight Aizen tease at the end too. If they keep this pace up and do 1-2 chapters an episode I think this could be really enjoyable.

Randomly, Shinigami Golden includes the return of Rukia's drawings. How I've missed those...

Ulquiorra releases. Everyone who guessed wolf was wrong. Ulq. grows wings like a bat. How fitting? The emo looking guy grows wings? Anyway, Ulq. attacks Ichigo, his mask breaks a bit and... cut back to Rukia! She is fighting the Arrancar of those Death squad arrancars, or whatever they're called. The ones that wear the skull masks. He has an ability that lets him infinitely create those soldiers. Don't know too much else. Hurray for it getting decent then going back to a fight nobody cares about?

Pretty sure the fighting will get all the way to the King, they didn't mention Hikifune and the Royal Guard/Zero Squad for nothing. It's the group made up of former Captains that protect the King, I bet Ichigo's dad is either part of the Royal Squad or the King himself O.o

I'm still under the assumption Espada's 1-4 are all VL's. No real reason to think otherwise.
