Yes it has been moving ok, but it doesn't change the fact that it's been incredibly weak and predictable overall. Like Hirokei said it feels like it's just become a parody of other shounen at this point. I really hope the Kubo can turn things around, because I've really enjoyed the series overall.

over all bleach has been an amazing series, i mean think about it, sure its started to pick up things from other series like the SSJ3 from DBZ with the hair growing with power thing, but Tite has had two manga's both entertaining and always had a theme that had never been done before like elfen lied, naruto, the Dragonball series, or even negima.

Bleach doesn't even have unique theme. It used to when it started, but then soul society arc comes and gone, and it just spiral into the piece of crap that it is today. The saddest part about it is that it's so fucking obvious now that kubo is just making shit up as he goes.

Unique concept doesn't make a series good to begin with anyway. The manner in which you tell the story makes the series good. Beside, I really can't think of any recent series that do something that hasn't already been done before, the different between the good and the shitty series is that the good author makes it interesting.

The way I see it, Bleach was unique before soul society, but wasn't too interesting since it felt like just monster of the week basis and flashbacks, then come soul society arc which gives structure to the opposition, which makes the series more interesting, but Kubo really went overboard in oversaturating the series with side characters, making the main set of character beside Ichigo really weak in both power and development, then by the time soul society ends, it just fucking went to shit in the sense that he keep introducing more and more character, without bothering to put any decent development on any of them, and so here we are, going for weeks on end watching fights between people nobody really gives a flying fuck about, and now that ichigo actually fights, it's just recycling the same damn predicament as his every other fight.

I mean I know that unnatural growth powered by fighting spirit is the basis of any battle manga, but going through the same set of conversation of "this is my power, this is my true power, NO FGT THIS IS MY TRUE POWER BLAAARGH" and eventually end in "AH SHIT YA GOT ME" really gets fucking old in the manner kubo uses it.

Ulquiorra is about to die from Ichigo's hands. This is the very definition of predictable.

I predicted Ishida would fight him briefly and not keep up. I predicted that Ichigo would get nailed as soon as Orihimme showed up and that Orihimme would be all whiny-shit, and then that Ichigo would either go into his inner world or succumb to his hollow.

If Kubo goes the way I wrote my crappy fanfic about and doesn't change from here on out, then his story is pretty stale and predictable.

In Naruto, nobody could have predicted Hinata would get involved or confess her feelings (despite whatever followed). That's what made it interesting. What made it not-so-interesting is that they knew she would survive.

I don't know about you, but I enjoy alot of the side characters in Bleach way more than I do the main characters. Actually in tandem, that's one of the things that makes Bleach so successful, just like DBZ-- it's not all about the main characters so much at all.

No decent development for the side characters? Surely you didn't miss the Pendulum Arc that was just mentioned a few posts above yours, which I'm sure they will continue soon since they ended it with something of a cliffhanger. Just about everyone outside of a few people in the First Arc and some randoms in Soul Society have decent character development now, that just needs to be tweaked upon.

Complaining about a Battle Manga going doing basic Battle Manga things is silly. I mean how else do you want some fights with the main character fighting to go? You can at least say at some points he fought at top strength and still got his ass whipped; other times people had to step in to save his ass. Then finally some opponents where he did the whole "OMG NO MORE HOLDING BACK, I'MA HIT YOU WITH EVERYTHING I GOT LOL" -> Epic Clash -> Barely wins and learns something new scenario. This is actually the first time he's fought a bad guy that kicks his ass no matter what he does plot-kai wise. And because of this, you should be complaining about the epically slow pace Kubo has set it to at this moment. If he's trying to build suspense, he's doing it terribly wrong.

While I do enjoy some of the side characters, I don't believe half of them should be getting the screentime they do now, at least not to the point where he had to dedicate like 10 fucking chapters on random captains and even more random lieutenants.

And I don't feel I need to reiterate how slow bleach is; since everyone, me included, has pretty much say that the past 10 pages or so...

My biggest issue with Bleach right now


#1 No one ever dies (if you go for a serious plot, you need to make the reader care)
#2 Way too many side characters
#3 No power level or rules defined. The fights rarely have a clever twist because the characters are always using skills that come out of nowhere. Seeing a new "transformation" can be interesting, but it loses its charm after a while.

And the last ( manga only)
#4 There is no fucking dialogue 95% of the time. It would be fine if i could read 100 chapters in a row, but it's just a torture when it's all you get every week.

Ehh, the fight against Grimmy was kinda meh, to the point where you'd know they'd be fighting the same way they did in their final encounter if Ulquiorra didn't get in the way on their second. And Nnoitora was gonna kill Ichigo at that point, you know that was just one of Kubo's ploys to give Kenpachi facetime.

We are on the same page aside from that-- 3-6 chapters is enough for side stories, but what Kubo is doing is overboard for real (apart from Pendulum). Even his pacing with Ichigo is fucking slow; doesn't even compare with the pacing of Naruto's predicament, which is actually similar ironically. Lolsealeddemons.

Usually when I read Bleach, I feel that Kubo isn't targeting our age demographic at all anymore-- kids would be at their seats reading what's going on in Bleach while we are bored out of our minds sometimes, lol. The best trick Kubo pulled out of his hat was Aizen becoming the main bad guy in this manga... no one really fucking saw it coming. XD

I'm just going to do myself a favor and drop the manga for a couple of months. The pacing of it all is just god awful when you can predict, pathetically accurate might I add, what's going to happen 5-10 chapters ahead. It's bad enough when the plot blatantly rips from other shounen's but for Kubo to string it out like it's some kind of ridiculous revelation is such a joke to the point the manga can convincingly claim itself as a parody. Shit I'd believe it.

See you guys in 6-9 month's when Orihime is still dropping "Kurosaki-kun" one-liners, Ishida and the others are just as useless, character of the week is unleashing his "Norly this is my true TRUE powah," and Ichigo goes Super Saiyan 4...err I mean reaches his "next" level of hollow form.
