Rukia goes from extremely tired to magically winning (even if it is well explained). Yammy grows several times (probably an explanation for why he will be stronger and harder to beat now) larger; Ulquiorra regenerates and cuts Ichigo's horn off, and Ishida is fast enough to catch and stop Ichigo's hollow form (and even had to struggle to keep him from stabbing Ulquiorra). Poor Ishida.

I wonder how Kubo will write himself out of this.

The yammy and rukia thing is one thing, but ishida is different.

He's always been pretty quick, but he said Ichigo was trying to carve up Ulq, so I take that as the sword moving really slowly going downwards to make him suffer. He didnt struggle with him for long either, he just yelled after a few seconds and got dead.

Ulq doesnt have the upper hand. all he did was attack him from behind and cut off his horn, which he can probably regenerate. Oh Noes! a horn got cut off! =/= upper hand.

and who said he snuck up on him? we can only assume this form of his is a berserker type thing, like every other evil form of the protagonist in every shonen ever, when, while in that form, they gain an extremely large amount of strength, but loose most all battle strategy finesse and tactics. Which is why they tend to lose to a smarter than average opponent.
He probably didnt even care, or might not even be able to sense rietsu anymore.

I actually laughed when Uuryu got stabbed. Him trying to stop Ichigo just makes no sense. Ichigo not killing Ulq makes no sense.

Agreed. You can't underestimate Ulqu's own abilities and battle sense. He's a top Espada and Aizen and company left him in sole charge of Hueho Mundo. In the shot where he cut of Ichi's horn, it appeared as though his legs was already starting to come back.

I really don't see why anyone cares what the titles of the chapters are... like it makes a difference if they are all titled Lust.

It's a prolonged fight vs. the same guy, it makes sense using a somewhat similar title. If he was going to give it a different stupid name every week it would be much worse.

Kubo needs to kill off Ulq. I understand he is a more important character, maybe a popular one with the fans, maybe he's just been around so long it's hard to do it... but he needs to. Other espada's have died, but none with as much page-time as Ulq, it needs to happen.

what I also said was the "berserker mode" made him easier to fight if the opponent used intelligence and other tactics. Throwing a big shiny lance right in plain view in the middle of the sky is not going to help you win a fight against someone faster and stronger than you.
