Things like Kenpachi having a more powerful swing with two hands is not an inconsistency.

Ichigo magically winning a fight he was being tossed around like a ragdoll in is an inconsistency because there was no buildup other than the mention of his 'possible' hidden power.

Anyway, the quality of the plot has just been going downhill lately. I had high hopes after the Pendulum Arc but now there isn't really anything to look forward to but the captain battles. As I said before, if they're not any good I'll probably just go read something else. Five minutes is five minutes, but in my world that five minutes could be better spent elsewhere if I can't read a decent story.

It is consistent as far as consistency goes, yes, but in terms of making sense to the story it is an inconsistency.

Ichigo consistently wins, yes. Ichigo's powerups since the first one against Byakuya have all been inconsistent. He goes from tying Grimmjow (cough: Kenpachi) to trouncing him in one attack, to being beaten down in a weakened state by the 5th espada, to being completely dominated by the 4th espada (Byakuya) where he pulls an enormous powerup out of his ass in the form of a foreshadowed hollow form that not only trounced Ulquiorra's unreleased state, it dominated his second released state, which was already far more than bankai + vizard Ichigo could handle. Ichigo's hollow form completely obliterated Ulquiorra in every way (speed, strength, skill).

That is inconsistent with the overall story, but consistent with how it has been told.

Remember in Dragon ball Z when Gohan got a massive power up like 900 times and then he finally learned to control his entire power? Same thing ichigo has been doing the entire series.

Every single anime recycles everything about itself. If you're complaining about it then you've obviously not read enough manga/watched enough anime.

I watched DBZ though. Comparing Ichigo to Gohan would be to watch Frieza be a super-hyped villain as Gohan's hidden power is touted by Guru. The entire Frieza saga, you have Frieza defeating Piccolo, Frieza defeating Vegeta, Frieza defeating Goku, and suddenly Gohan is all that is left. The last three times Gohan fired a Masenko at Frieza he effortlessly deflects it away. In Frieza Stage 2 form.

Then Frieza goes final stage, 10%. Then powers up to 100%. Gohan unleases his hidden power (but not super saiyan, although super saiyan has been hinted at) and scratches Frieza's face. Then Frieza gets angry. Then, Krillin makes it there just in time to see Gohan get blasted in the face and thrown away. Then he taunts Krillin and Krillin calls for help and suddenly Gohan gets up, goes SSj2, destroys Frieza with a single Kamehameha, and turns back into base Gohan while telling Frieza it's not a win because it wasn't him.

That's what just happened in Bleach.

Oh, and then Nappa appears out of nowhere and suddenly he's a SSj3.

The difference here is that no one cares about Ichigo or Ulquiora. We hated Cell, we liked Gohan.

DBZ had 1 villain in over 100 chapters+, Bleach has... 15-20? DBZ had 7-8 good guys teaming up, Bleach has 20?

Soul society arc was great because it was Ichigo against the world. It was epic. Right now, it's just a bunch of people fighting against each other for unimportant outcome.

The sad truth is, if you switched DB's characters with Bleach's characters, Bleach would be excellent all the way up to the end of the Cell saga (bearing in mind the same theme was intact but it followed the plot of DB correctly).

Oh, and don't forget that before Gohan reverts to his base form from SSj2, he accidentally punches a hole in Piccolo's chest when Piccolo stops him and says "That's enough Gohan, any more and you won't be a kid anymore".

I really hope that wave behind Halibel was Ukitake (he has water right?) Shunsui/Stark and Ukitake are pretty much the only characters i care about these days. I have lost interest in all the others (although seeing Unohana and Urahara fight would be awesome)

Ichigo is pissing me off. We always knew he was a bit of a 'tard but really, "cut off my arm and leg so we can fight equally"?Then Ulq just, turns to dust, or whatever? What the hell man, not cool.
