So how did Halibel begin releasing in the end of the last chapter and all of a sudden only finish at the end of this chapter? This chapter was the definition of filler.

I really did not think I would see so much bitching about this chapter, but I guess I just don't have such high standards for the free manga I read.
Oh, its free? guess that means i have no right to complain.
Wait... no...

I don't see much bitching about this chapter...It's been mostly reaction and discussion with what people think is going to happen next (for better or worse). Bitching is what was happening during the Ichigo v Ulqui fight, so far most people seem fairly content with the content of the chapter...
the chapter was good, but they need to continue the damn story
I wanna see this happen at this moment:
1) Soifon and Omeda get their asses handed to them, horribly.
2) Soifon releases Bankai and tries to solo.
3) Soifon gets her ass handed to her and is close to death.
4) Yoruichi jumps in out of no where to help Soifon.
5) Soifon gets willpower from Yoruichi helping, and the both duo Barragan down.
6) Soifon/Yoruichi get knocked about some.
7) Yoruichi bankai's and does high speed dizzle with Soifon to fight.
8) Soifon/Yoruichi both get knocked the hell out, close to death.
9) Barragan preps his killing blow.
10) Toshiro uses his bankai to regain his hand and/or form an ice hand to continue to do battle with Halbiel.
11) Toshiro gets his ass handed to him more, and close to death.
12) Stark wears Shunsui down, forcing him to release his sword into dual wield sexiness.
13) Stark and Shunsui fight more, only less lazy and more epic. Ukitake knocks out Stark's fraccion after a lil trouble and lols, then watches on.
14) Stark gains the upper hand, and Ukitake gets nervous.
15) Stark releases, and proceeds to beat the ever loving crap out of Shunsui (though I love him XD)
16) Ukitake releases then jumps in after he sees the fight is one sided.
17) Epic fighting between Stark and Shunsui/Ukitake.
18) Stark does ??? attack and haymakers Shunsui/Ukitake down.
19) Shunsui/Ukitake do some kinda "oh shit", and Bankai at the same time.
20) Epic fighting, with Shunsui/Ukitake still losing.
21) Stark readies his finishing move.
22) Oh snap, Vizard jump in.
Hella dorky, but it would keep me satisfied for a while.
I can see the Shunsui/Ukitake dual bankai thing happening
No, I'm saying that I'm surprised to see any bitching at all. I could see people complaining about a lot of stuff in previous chapters, but it seems like some just obsessively need to complain. Barragon whips out a battleaxe, Halibel releases, Hitsugaya gets eviserated and one or two people still have to have some sort of complaint. That's what I was pointing out.
as much as i hate to say it i dont think halibel has much more time alive unless she has a big battle with someone, if you think about all the enemy arrancar who released they normally dont live to unrelease... {with the exception of grimmjow}
Because they turned into ugly monsters. Halibel is fine, she turned into something hot.
Ulquiora is also okay because his final form was human. He might not look fine right now, but a chapter named "ash" imply there is a rebirth, and with Orihime 2 feet away from him, you know he isnt gone.
People will complain as long he isnt moving the plot forward. . We don't want fight involving minor characters. Give them one panel to show their release and another to show the outcome, but 60 pages (3 chapters) per side characters is just retarded when there is 20+.
Man I'm surprised a how much better Halibel looks without that stupid "hollow jaw mask" thing she had before her Resureccion. : p
I'm also going to agree with Kaylia, I don't mind countless fighting but at least stick to covering one or maybe even two fights. I hate how Bleach multi-panels so much shit especially when there is only 20 pages a week.
The plot is progressing, in case you haven't noticed.
I find it amazing that Kubo pays so much more attention to detail in his fights that DON'T involve Ichigo than in any of Ichigo's fights. Every fight has had a decent ending outside of any of Ichigo's after Byakuya's. I think he doesn't really care about his own hero anymore. I digress.
The plot is progressing - what we're seeing is why Aizen was so confident in the top three Espada. With three of them I'd say it's likely we'll see one of them fall (opening the door for Wonderweiss) but I sincerely doubt it will be Stark.
If anything, the most likely person to lose is going to be Halibel. She's already released, and she's the most emotional of all of them (Barragan is arrogant, Stark is calm, but she is the one who's unleashing her anger) so I think she's going to let it get the better of her and make a mistake.
No matter what, we needed things to get back in full swing after the epic fail that was Ichigo's fight with Ulquiorra. The story can actually begin to make sense again until the next time we see him.
I'm not sure what your standard are, but in what circumstance are we allowed to say the plot isn't progressing?
Forty weeks (nearly 1 year if you include break)..and what happened? A fake town with 4 pillar followed by non stop battle. The only accomplishment done so far was Ichigo saving Orihime, and some information about the new power-up.
Were the fight interesting? According to most people, it wasn't fun to read. Nearly every fights had people taunting each other for 2 manga, instead of finishing the fight right away. Why can't they just use their full power right away. Those fake comeback are annoying as fuck.
Shunsui and Ukitake are going to Bankai together and merge into a single giant robot.
TENGEN TOPPA SHUNSEN UKITANN!
Because then the fights would be over in three seconds and people would be bitching that the fights are too short.
Repetition is what makes a story bad. If you keep doing the same thing over and over and don't make it interesting, it ends up sucking. Repetition doesn't mean the story isn't progressing.
Plot progression is more about the story moving forward enough to be heading somewhere. Ichigo's fights have none of this. It's just about them being over because you know Ichigo's going to win. With the fights in fake KT, you really don't know (especially now actually) how it's going to turn out (although his overall story is predictable, the execution is very different).
So I suppose what you could say is that progression is moving the plot forward in such a way that not only do the characters learn something or end up somewhere, they also go through some sort of change or at least develop some sort of reason for that change.
Ichigo magically winning against Grimmjow just because someone said 200 chapters ago that he has potential is just dumb. He goes from winning (barely) against Grimmjow to transforming and absolutely demolishing Ulquiorra (who is obviously hundreds of times more powerful).
Ichigo has not had any progression. The overall plot is really more interesting than he is and that is the problem with the manga. The main character simply isn't as interesting as the other characters in the story.
No one would ever complain aboutthe fight being too short. 7-8 manga fight is fine to conclude an arc, but you won't find many people who enjoy a 3 chapter long with minor characters. The only thing people want to see is new bankai/powerup for certain characters, and that alone can be done a lot faster
And Ichigo progression was always the same. He just control his potential better and better. It's not really an issue for me, but that alone doesn't make a fight interesting.
He doesn't control his potential. It manifests itself. That's the whole point I'm trying to make. His progression is the same and it's boring. He only knows one move, and all he does is spam that and try to move around real fast.
When that doesn't work, what does he do? He gets a new mask/level/release and wins.
Fuck. At least Inuyasha learned a new attack every arc.
lold way to hard at this, this morning
