This is very true. I hate to bring up this example, but when DBZ was picked up by Funimation back in 1999 I think it was, they started dubbing past episode 52. The first batch of episodes were pretty damn flat in terms of voice acting. But after some time the VA's really got in touch with the characters though not super great in acting, still it got better.

I think sometimes VA's don't really do their homework and try to watch the the original version of the Anime because they don't want to copy what was done by the JP voice actors. They don't look into the character and try to get in touch with them at all and they just read the script and try to create a voice/tone based on what they see in the script, and not by doing research into the character.

Suddenly Soi Fon has an idea. She orders Omaeda to act as a decoy while she goes off.

Switches to Halibel, who is thinking about the "amateur" Hitsugaya.

He somehow defended against the attack, However, what's in front of them is twisted. Stubborn Amateur.

Flooding out the surroundings becomes both offense and defense.

She asks Hitsu: "What are you waiting for? For your surroudings to change? So, are you going to use your greatest secret? Let it out!"

Hitsu responds: "Seriously, though... Hyourinmaru is the strongest Ice-Snow type [zanpakutou]!! This the bankai state at the start, however,
My power is... from the heavens...

The chapter ends with a special move, something massive falls from the sky.

I'm unsubscribing this thread, I really, really have lost my last shred of faint, desperate hope for anything that could ever be salvaged from this manga. It's just past the point where it's worth even keeping up with it, every chapter spoiler makes my teeth hurt. I wish you luck if you keep up with it.
