Yes, Shinji and Kenpachi take the place of Ishida and Nel on my list now that I rethink it. Especially Shinji, geez so easy to forget since we last saw him leaving for the battle with Aizen like 5 years ago.

That gets me thinking, maybe the Vizard are stuck in the real Karakura town, unless they somehow snuck into the one built and placed in it's place. Technically they should all be in SS in the real Karakura sleeping or whatever the fuck they said they did to the people in it.

I like to think that the Vizaird have not yet left for the actual battle yet, and that the end of the pendulum arc scene with them leaving to it, has yet to actually occur in the storyline. Which explains why they have not shown up at the battle yet. May not be what actually happens, but it helps me not wonder just what the fuck is taking them so long to get there.

Depends on how badly they censor it. The part where Ishida and Renji were getting their organs crushed was pretty lackluster since they were only spitting up water in the anime.
