Were early manga as slowly paced? Most of us started when there was quite a few out.

Bleach was pretty quickly-paced when it started.. mostly because there wasn't so much story to tell. But now Kubo wants all of his characters to have short fights so the fights aren't as long, meaningful, plot-advancing, or interesting. They all have the same formula. Ishida struggles, Renji unveils a new skill but still loses, Chad owns until he comes across someone thousands of times stronger than him, Ichigo wants his fights to be fair and plot-no-jutsus the outcome, and Orihimme screams Kurosaki-kun 2500 times.

I didn't pick up the manga until around the time the anime started showing in Japan, but mostly what Kuro said above me. The beginning and first soul society arc went pretty quickly.

Yeah, I remember Bleach being very high paced and action packed back in the day. Seems like Kubo wants to age it like a fine wine now before it dwindles down. We still have a hell of a way to go as well. I'm sure Kubo will show us The King's Dimension, The King, and the Zero Squad at some point. Then the telling of Ichigo's dad and such. Then Ichigo actually squaring off with Aizen, since you know plotkai leads our hero to the very last epic fight.

also; just saw the last ep of bleach. the 3 chimaira bitches used a laser beam to make the big guy(arron was it?) instead of ripping off their arms.

Still, the pace of the plot doesn't bother me too much, I just don't want another set like 'The Lust' as that really took the piss lol.

Doesn't matter how high it ranks in WSJ, every new volume is usually in top 3 sales, although One Piece just crushes everything.

To-Love-Ru also sells really well, but its uncensored in the tankobon version.

Cuz you know Japanese kiddies are probably dorky enough to rip off their own body parts in succession to try and create thier own chimera. (Just like how so many made Death Notes to try and kill the classmates and teachers they hated a few years earlier).

Idk i guess imo that the censored version is funnier and less, and Doubt it Kentaro probably didnt draw it in because SJ would have to censor it out and also for the first i think 10 Tankoban releases they were censored.

I think the anime is a better example of what should be happening at this moment. Like I said, besides the "cut my arm and leg" bullshit, the anime is doing a really good job in displaying what the war is going on right now in it's proper medium.

I get my weekly shounen dose from Nurarihyon no Mago, Negima and Ubel Blatt, with the side of random everything else that pops on onemanga.

Umi no Misaki is bleaaaargh though, the mangaka must have one hell of a hard on for subservient women, first it was 1 girl that is raised as a wife for the main character, and now 3 girl that think the main character is god.
