At first I was disappointed in Yamamoto this chapter, I agreed he should have been a bit wiser in the situation, then I remembered in the SS arc he went right after and attacked Utitake and Shunsui without considering their reasons for doing the right thing. So I think in the end, he always seemed to blindly follow and believe whatever came out of Central 46. If he had half a brain he might have figured out that after it was discovered Aizen killed off Central 46, that maybe the incident 100 years ago wasn't as black and white as it appeared, but that might be asking too much of him.

Oh, and one last thing - After all this, are we really supposed to believe that captain level shinigami are still scared of a horde Gillian/Menos hollows?

I had hoped the entire time he was playing dumb, perhaps luring potential enemies into place for a "just as planned" surprise. But, as you said, that was apparently too much to expect.

Oh, and one last thing - After all this, are we really supposed to believe that captain level shinigami are still scared of a horde Gillian/Menos hollows?

They might just be surprised at the quantity of menos, or maybe the they were just sort of puked out of nowhere.

Yamamoto's face when he spotted Shinji was just priceless. I think that's the first time I've ever seen a "holy shit" look from him.

Yeah. Yama-ji's look when Shinji and the rest showed up was priceless. Never really seen him worried. Curious like when Ichigo pulled the stunt he did in the Soul Society? Yeah. An actual 'holy shit' reaction? Not so much. Was a badass chapter.

Loved the Shunsui/Lisa moment too. Needs more Nanao.

I'm guessing the barrier was there to prevent any real people from coming in the town during the battle since they're technically still on Earth and unless they're on a really remote island, I'm sure there's other towns surrounding the city?

Edit - Nanao is Shunsui's current Vice Captain. It was shown in the penduluum arc that she used to come visit Lisa to read or something when she was small...

God that was such as badass chapter. I am still curious what Aizen, Tousen and Gin are going to do now. They are free to move and I doubt they'll be sitting still for much longer. I fucking can't wait to see Gin fight, there is so little we know about him and he's such a sinister character, it's bound to be exciting the first time we see him go into his masked state or use his Bankai. Also very interested to see how strong Shinji and co. are with their masks on fighting at full strength.

Nothing to worry about. No matter what happen, when you spawn an army of "powerful" being, their power level is divided by the amount of spawn. They become so weak that even the lamest character can take 3 at times.

I just hate the fact that no matter what happens, Aizen will forever have a "Just as Planned" card and rape everyone solo. At the least I'm calling it nao, above this all, Urahara will do battle with Aizen, then Ichigo will be there at the very last minute to save him.

Hmm...does this mean Yorichi will go against Gin and then someone against Tousen (Komamura?) Cause it makes sense for Urahara to go against Aizen, but I also think it makes even more sense for Urahara to show up with Ichigo as his win card even though that's fairly lame as we all want to see more Urahara fighting. I wonder if he'll show up and it be Urahara/Ichigo/Yoruichi vs Aizen/Gin/Tousen or Urahara/Shinji/Yoruichi.
