The difference is that Kubo had much more action and detail per panel and the pages weren't just black smears of nothingness for 3 pages.
edit: Also, I don't think the emphasis on the chapter is so much that the vizard destroyed menos... I think the emphasis is more on how brutal they did it (mostly with their bare hands) which is not how we usually see captains dealing with menos or espada.
Also, for people who say menos are a pushover... where in the manga is it ever shown that most anyone can trounce a menos? Also, using the arrancar as a point of reference isn't fair game as they possess a different level of intellect than your run of the mill menos.
Well, the smearing thing can be a result of the scanning process. I've tinkered with the methods a little when trying to convert sketches to workable photoshop images, and at its simplest, you're shooting for white and black colors only. Anything in between is usually a result of cross-hatching by the artist or the cleaner taking some liberties.
Not saying things haven't changed, though. Just might've been stuff I never cared to think about. Early Bleach could have been more "intense" in hopes of sustaining readership and keeping Kubo employed. Now that he's in a top spot, he probably has been resting on his laurels a little. Let's just hope coming issues rectify this now that the Vizard have showed up.
they aren't helping anyone.
this is revenge
Spoiler: show
This weeks episode actually was an omake Kubo did, well most of it.

lol@Soi Fon looking so angry.
Sat here staring at that thinking, "Who's the girl by the shark?" Then I noticed her right arm was gone and was like, "Ah, Kuukaku." I like how it seems like Nanao lost her top somewhere.
It would make the entire thing fail. He already did that with Ichigo. My money's on Starrk or Gin/Tousen interfering. Someone will stop the strike. Although, it would be interesting to see Aizen stop it with his sword. Then he'll be angry because he had to lift a finger.
I think its pretty obvious that Aizen is gonna stop it with a finger or something to that effect. He's still eons above them in power
Something that bothers me about Aizen is that Kubo made him too strong I believe. He is just standing there with a smug look on his face and you just feel that he's going to pull the "just as planned" bs. Hopefully this isn't some hypnosis crap.
yea I don't really understand the point of taking off his mask before hitting him if he meant to cut him for real. I guess maybe it's kind of like a long overdue greeting? lol, next week nao!.
Probably wants to fight him without the mask to prove to Aizen that he doesn't need hollow form to kill him or something? I mean only reason why they're(the vizards) are able to go hollow is because Aizen gave them that ability. Since Shinji was a former captain probably going to use his bankai or something.
He didnt remove his mask, he broke it. . It's like those hollow at the beginning of this arc that were taking piece of their body to evolve.
Can't Shinji see through Aizen's illusion though? If I remember, the only reason he got duped in the flashback arc was because he was too suspicious of him yet failed to act on his suspicion
Undoubtedly Aizen is stronger but I don't think Shinji's gonna get "owned" atleast not right away.
