He can't see through it, he was completely affected by it. Aizen had someone else following behind Shinji but made it look like Aizen. Shinji should have noticed the person following him wasn't acting exactly like Aizen normally does and should have realized something wasn't quite right and thus seen through the illusion that way, but he always kept Aizen a good distance behind him and thus never noticed anything different.

Speaking of illusions, maybe instead of stopping Shinji's sword with a finger, he pulls the trick he used on Hitsugaya at the end of the SS arc.

Anyway, I can't really complain about the last few chapters, except for the fact that Aizen is going to pull some Light Yagami shit and make them all die from heart attacks.

You could say that Aizen let him possibly see through that but we are talking about Shinji. He probably didn't really care for his VC and since he assumed Aizen was always by his side never really wanted to check. We still have NO IDEA what any of their Bankai's or Swords/Abilities are.

I don't know if you're serious or not. That would be a really cool concept.
It doesn't seem to be the case though. I would think TK would have shown pieces of it flying. It looks more like it's melting away. Like the opposite of how it kind of melts onto their face when they put it on.

You can look at it both ways, he knew Aizen was sneaking around at that moment. Or he might of just felt his presense, Aizen letting him feel it.

But you can also look at it as Shinji not really caring about if that was or was not Aizen behind him. As long as he had some one behind him he didn't really need to use his maybe unknown power to tell if Aizen was there or not. It is just speculating but there is nothing else to do until next week's spoilers are out.

Plus I just want a new bad guy to appear here soonish and it doesn't seem like it is going to happen anytime soon.

The problem was that while Shinji correctly mistrusted Aizen, and took steps to keep Aizen nearby, he never really took the time to understand Aizen(corny as that sounds). Shinji's mistrust kept him from bonding with Aizen on any level, and so when Aizen replaced himself, using a complex kido to mask that replacement, Shinji--not knowing Aizen on a personal level--could not detect the subtle changes in mannerisms that the replacement exhibited, and so couldn't tell the difference until it was too late. You could say Shinji did well to keep Aizen close, but in a way, not close enough.

EDIT: It was Aizen's shikai that masked him. I suspect that the reason Shinji might have been able to tell the difference(if he'd been paying attention), was because 110 years ago when Aizen was still a lieutenant, he and his shikai were still young, and thus not as powerful as they are now. Back then, a strong enough will and sharp enough mind might have been able to penetrate it's hypnotic properties.

No there is a 9 year time jump after that incident and Aizen explicitly says that the it was someone else following him for a month.

I always thought this was some kind of kido and not the power of his zanpakutou. It really just looks like Aizen has a barrier to some other dimension or something rather than using his hypnotix.

Either way this whole chapter ended in a stupid manner. It's either going to lead to Aizen's "lulz just as planned" or "I block teh attack new challenger!!!!" Shit's stupid and it's getting fucking old with Bleach, Kubo needs to stop trolling everyone.

Maybe a Vizards Resurrección Segundo is a full hollowfication similar to Ichigo's mysterious form, but in order for them to reach that form they have to take damage that puts them on the brink of death. So it could be possible that Shinji took his mask off in order to take enough damage to put him in situation where he is mortally wounded so he can transform. It sounds crazy but I wouldn't put it past Kubo to come up with this kind of scenario.

In reality though, Shinji might just be cocky ("I want you to see my face when I kill you" kind of thing) or either Tousen or Gin will jump in.
