so who's zanpaktou is skinny lightning spear guy? only person who I can think of that is unnacounted for is Unohana and Isane. It really doesnt look like how Unohana's would look, and Isane's zanpaktou's name translates into "Frozen Cloud" so that doesnt fit either. and we havnt even seen cloaked guy do anyhting at all. didnt even make an appearance this episode.

Latest episode shows that the cloaked zanpaktou spirit is Minazuki, Unohana's weapon.

Unohana's is there in the first episode of the filler with Ukitake's and Shunsui's at the part where they're outside Yamamoto's room. You can't see its face though, and it just looks tall and wears a green robe.

why weird? Ichigo's bankai adds next to nothing to his strength is seems like. not to mention the spirits all seem to be stronger than their owners albiet they dont have their swords working properly. And its never been said a zanpaktous strength is the same strength as their owner. the only thing that gives or takes away from a shinigami's strength is how well their relationships are together with their zanpaktou

Speaking of relationships between Shinigami and their Zanpaktou.. (and I know this isn't canon so we shouldn't really take it seriously) how are the majority of them ever going to have any form of a relationship after this? A number of them have already gone on crazy killing sprees, they've fought their masters, and more or less tried to launch a coup d'etat. Realistically, it seems the only way for them to work together at the end of this is if the Shinigami enslave the Zanpaktou or remove their personalities.

I'm guessing its a mind control thing, and they're not actually like this. Most of the ones we know of willingly give over their powers; it isn't a control thing like the vaizard and hollows. Hell, the main bad guy could be someone's zanpaktuo and it's just not revealed yet.

It could just be a form of spirit manipulation which is brainwashing them.

I'm liking the filler so far, but I hope Ichigo isn't the key to the outcome.

Hachi speaks with Barragan and says that he believes Barragan used respira on Soifon's bankai, which is why he wasn't hit... he then claims that Barragan had to escape the blast, which meant it might have actually hurt him. He then tells Barragan that he wonder what would happen if he had no room to escape and no time to use his respira to break down Hachi's barriers.

With that, Hachi casts a series of barriers, allowing Soifon to get closer. She's extremely tired but says she'll go for it if Hachi puts Urahara in a barrier-prison for a month. Soifon goes Bankai and fires another shot while Hachi uses an incantation to cast a barrier right around Barragan. He allows Soifon's attack through and closes it just before impact, making sure Barragan is actually hit. Barragan is visibly angry and shown with a crack in his skull.

Hacchi, who was silently listening to Barragan until now, suddenly claps his hands.

Every time Hacchi claps his hands there's a plank-like thing appearing, then Hacchi makes a move with his hands and these planks start line up neatly and form a giant wall-barrier isolating Barragan from Hacchi & Co.

In an instance, Barragan is trapped with this barrier. Hacchi claps his hands together and starts chanting.

Hacchi: Brethren-in-arms withdrawing for the distance of 8 sun and standing still; blue bolt (like a bolt on door), white bolt, black bolt, red bolt; sinking into the ocean together seeking redemption

Barragan: Incantation? The spell that is cast skipping incantation is strengthened if the incantation is added. A smart thing to do... But you won't make it in time!

Hacchi stops his chanting and at the same time he opens his hands that were previously joint.

Hacchi: The Gate of Dragon Tail

Hacchi makes a move with his hands again, and the shape of the huge wall-barrier changes to something resembling a home plate [TN: from baseball]. He excitedly calls out to Soifon:

Hacchi: Soifon-san! Help me please! We need the power of your bankai!

Soifon: You know even about my bankai... everything was passed to you, bastards?... Urahara Kisuke... he's an utterly unpleasant man...

Hacchi: I understand that you don't want to cooperate with us as there's a connection between us and Urahara-san. But right now is not the time to say such things!!

Hearing Hacchi's words Soifon understands that 'now is not the time', but still doesn't listen. Hacchi seeing her reluctance, responds:

Hacchi: I get it... Let's make a deal then.

At this time, not seeing any response since Hacchi formed the wall-barrier with his 'The Gate of Dragon Tail', Barragan gets ready to commence his next attack.

Barragan: Even though you produced such a grand barrier, without agreement between you all it's gonna be good for is buying you some time. "Rot away"!

Now there's a huge wall before Barragan, on his left and right there're Tiger Fang and Turtle Shell Gates and Phoenix Wing Gate from above, and now he's completely surrounded as Hacchi closes his barrier.

Barragan: Bwahahaha! How funny, how funny! You're planning to seal me with just that?

Hacchi: This is not a barrier to seal you.

Barragan: What?

Hacchi: You used your 'aging' power on Soifon-taichou's bankai a little while ago. It exploded far away from you as you flew over to another place to avoid the blast wave... So if you're in a place where you absolutely can't escape from the blast wave, your 'aging' power simply won't make it in time because the explosion will be too close... What's going to happen if you're being bathed in it?...

Barragan: You... bastard...

Soifon moves to the back of the windmill-fang-like shaped Gate of Tiger Fangs, sticks the pointed end of her Bankai in the middle, and faces towards Hacchi

Soifon: Swear once again that you will imprison Urahara Kisuke in your barrier for a month starting tomorrow.
