muramasa could be zaraki's (ya ya i know), aizen's (did we ever learn his sword's name?) or a 3rd completely new character.

I don't think it could screw up cannon if it was Zaraki's (yeah, I'm going there). Muramasa could just be pissed because Zaraki never took the time to get to know him so he somehow set all the zanpaktous "free" in a way to carry out his revenge or something. Kubo said this was going to be a story he never had time to tell in the manga, so this could be the explanation finally of what we've been debating so much it's become a "banned" topic here.

Oh, and I didn't watch the non-filler stuff before this filler started so not 100% sure where it ended, but I'm pretty sure the stuff in the Arrancar Encyclopedia is very spoilerish for anyone not reading the manga (though, I'm pretty sure at this point most anyone not keeping up in it doesn't read/post here anymore anyway).

Very much so... and it couldn't be Aizen's because Aizen's is Kyoka Suigetsu.

There's been a lot of speculation that it's Kenpachi's.

The anime before the filler basically caught up completely to the manga.

I basically came to the same conclusion as Nuriko. Muramasa is pissed he's not used like all the others or whatever. Also, kubo makes zaraki conspicuously absent from the meeting called by yamamoto in the beginning. Though that could be because he's the only one that could beat everyone's ass; he doesn't need to rely on his sword, etc etc.

If someone is willing to do a little digging, the bleach wiki quotes kubo somewhere that he'd like to go more in-depth about zaraki. This could be the time. Of course, it could be another epic kubo trolling and we're all way off base.

Edit: I still hope they explain why the zanpakuto are revolting in the first place. I was under the assumption the powers were given over willingly, not enslaved a 'la vaizard and hollow.

why does ichigo still have his shikai in the preview?
only explanation I can think of is because of his hollow and zangetsu were technically the same, and w/e controls the shinigami just split them. Woulda been a bit cooler tho, if thats the case if Ichigo's sword's color was switched.

I'm calling it now... next time we see Byakuya's zanpaktou, he's going to hold out his sword... and say "Kuchiki Byakuya!" and his sword changes form!

Bah. I hate it when manga/anime don't even follow their own logic. It would've been pretty badass to see Ichigo go up against Zangetsu with nothing but his base zanpaktou and his hollow mask.

Really liking the filler so far besides the "lolRukia gunna die for Xth time but notrly."

From the rukia+her sword moment, it sounded like they are revolting because they feel underappreciated? Or something like that. They feel like the shinigami have been taking their power for granted. She seemed genuinely surprised that Rukia was willing to give her up at the end and changer her mind until Muramasa stopped her.

It's pretty obvious Muramasa is manipulating them to a degree too, so I doubt this was 100% just because they are pissed off, and more because they are misunderstanding due to his influence. Also leaves a nice way for them to play kissykissy and make-up after the arc's over.

edit: Also I like the arc overall so far, but I agree that Rukia "dying" is getting really played out.

her death is extra pointless because this is freaking filler lol

I think the reason why Zaraki isn't there is just because he doesn't rely on special sword powers. His raw reiatsu is just so strong it doesn't matter. He could've just kicked a ton of ass and made this filler 1 episode long.

and kubo better freaking explain Zaraki more. God, I can't stand him "I kinda wanna talk and explain my awesome characters more but idk... I think people would rather learn more about Hitsugaya and his big-titted vice captain. I don't even know her name"

the zanpaktous ARE probably being controlled in someway because in the 2nd or 1st episode they explain why they had to seal the Captain Commander... cuz him and his sword are too strong-willed or some shit like that.

mmm if Ichigos sword goes against him, mabye Uraharas will too? wonder what Benihime looks like

You assume urahara will get off his ass and do some actual fighting for a change. Yoruichi will be interesting though. I can't imagine she doesn't have a zanpakuto at all. And if any sword that enters SS becomes "freed" or whatever, we should see something with hers.

Kenpachi is most likely absent so Kubo can leave explanations regarding his zanpakuto for the main canon. Chances are he will not make an appearance in this filler arc.
