I basically came to the same conclusion as Nuriko. Muramasa is pissed he's not used like all the others or whatever. Also, kubo makes zaraki conspicuously absent from the meeting called by yamamoto in the beginning. Though that could be because he's the only one that could beat everyone's ass; he doesn't need to rely on his sword, etc etc.

If someone is willing to do a little digging, the bleach wiki quotes kubo somewhere that he'd like to go more in-depth about zaraki. This could be the time. Of course, it could be another epic kubo trolling and we're all way off base.

From an interview with Morita a while back:

Notice how Zangetsu is actually fighting Shirosaki, Ichigo's berserk hollow form.

You assume urahara will get off his ass and do some actual fighting for a change. Yoruichi will be interesting though. I can't imagine she doesn't have a zanpakuto at all. And if any sword that enters SS becomes "freed" or whatever, we should see something with hers.

Nah, only time we ever see Yoruichi with any type of sword is a small daito in the flashbacks about Soi Fon's training under her. There's never been any evidence she even has a zanpakuto, but that seems unlikely since she was a captain at one point.

Captains have to have a Bankai or have defeated the previous captain in battle to be a captain (like Zaraki did). The 2nd Squad captain has always been someone from the Shihouin family.

That's all the info we have from the time Yoruichi was a captain, but she definitely had a zanpakutou. We don't know if she has a shikai or bankai or anything because it's never stated... only implied. Plus, she prefers to use her hands so it's possible her kidou is much more powerful than everything else.

I saw the sword he was wielding in the next preview... it actually looked like Haineko. I don't think Muramasa is Zaraki's sword (although Kenny's absence may have something to do with it, or Kubo doesn't want to reveal his sword because he's saving it for later.)

No, his sword is the same as Ichigo's. It's always released (this was stated by Yoruichi when Ichigo was training for Bankai) because of his massive reiatsu forcing it into a released state.

It's still possible Muramasa is his sword and is disgruntled because Kenpachi never learned his name... then again, it's possible it belongs to another shinigami who is just a huge jerk. We won't know because so far none of the shinigami who we don't know names for are present - Nanao (who was there at the beginning but now is absent), Kenpachi, Yachiru, Nemu (same as Nanao), Hanataro (whose sword we saw in an extra chapter), Renji's little friend dude, Ganju, and Ukitake's 3rd and 4th seated officers.
