well being the king of something doesn't ever really mean your the strongest such as the past and present presidents and kings that have been around probably dont come close to the strength of there subordinates.

That said and out of the way, time for second theory

we all know Stark is lazy and isn't to fond of fighting, so his logic probably is if he was known to be king and the strongest he would probably always be challenged. and Yammy is only strong for short periods aparently. that and Barri has had quite a big ego to begin with.

I have no comments really, kind of boring chapter.

I enjoyed the chapter...anything but fighting is good for me. We didnt learn much, but it was still an okay flashback.

That was an awesome flashback... it gives us some good detail as to how the Espada view Aizen.

The only thing I think is retarded is how Gran Caida dissolved with him. He's had it this whole time and it never aged when his breath touched it. It would have been cooler had he thrown it and Aizen simply knocked it away.

It makes me feel bad for him because he wanted Aizen dead. Well if he wanted Aizen dead so bad, why didn't he just breathe on him? Come on.

So...? Barragan looks the same as a normal hollow as he does as a released espada, yet Hallibel/Stark/every other espada we've seen doesn't? :/

If so, then that makes the theory of higher level hollow/espada = more human looking release/normal form a little doubtful.

I sense a consistency issue here...

Well, way back (assuming I'm remembering correctly) when they originally entered Hueco Mundo and Ichigo, Ishida, and Chad (right?) fought those three who said they were the original head espada till Aizen's artificial ones came along, wasn't the one Ichigo fought the original 1? Bleach hasn't exactly had the best consistency, so ya gotta just take things as they come...

Edit: Nvm, he's 103, but still, he says when Aizen came, there was no use for the old Espada, So Barrigan shouldn't have been King back then~

It could be one of those things where after Aizen gave him more power he sort of forgot about his hatred, then as he was dieing he remembered his hatred for Aizen since it's really Aizen's fault for him ending up in the situation he's in.

I think they just said they were former Espada's, they never said what their previous numbers were I don't think. So they could have just been Barragan's subordinates.
