Yea, but it also allows him to decimate any opponent no matter how strong, based on something as trivial as a colour they are wearing - pretty neat trick if you ask me.

Yea, I had high hopes for Shunsui too. I think the ability is very interesting and certainly adds a unique aspect... but it really should have been a bankai-level ability. If his release is this overpowered, then what the hell does his bankai do?

Plus, the ability isn't really balanced out just because his sword has a mind of its own and changes games.

I think Kubo really messed this one up. It's surprising but it's a little too surprising.

I wonder, and i'm being serious, if kubo didn't fuck up and mix up ukitake and shunsui's abilities. How does a childs game for an ability match up with a serious looking woman (shunsui) over the twin children (ukitake) shown in the filler?

The obvious answer is that Kubo came up with their appearances in the filler first, and then forgot all about that when he made up Shunsui's power up.

Just because the physical appearance doesn't match, doesn't mean the attitude and personality won't. In fact, through the filler, every Zanpakto's attitude has been rather close to a mirror of the wielder. There is no reason the two twins can't be extremely sharp and studious or the serious looking woman is actually rather playful at heart.

In fact, I seem to remember in the ED of the filler the twins seem to be studying something with Ukitake and the woman sticking her tongue out as well.

Also please dont let Stark be dead. I liked him. But he released already and Shunsui's ownin him atm. And the perv hasnt even done Bankai yet >.>

I don't think we'll see Starrk die just yet. He is by far the most interesting Espada of the group. I think we'll get a flashback next chapter followed by some revelation or interference or a fight switch.

As awesome as it is to see an interesting Bleach fight for a change, Kubo would be making a huge mistake ending a fight with the #1 Espada BEFORE the #3 and Yammy. It's just retarded. Something big is going to happen soon. With only Halibel left, and the Vizard seriously outnumbering everyone and Yamamoto still on the field, I find it hard to believe Starrk is down for the count (not to mention Tousen Vs. Komamura and Hisagi as well as Wonderwice with Kensei and Mashiro, then we still have Shinji, Aizen, and Gin).

Too much going on at once. Kubo needs to change the pace, fight, or scenery.

the thing that kind of confuses me is let's say shunsui goes up against someone like byakuya. If senbonzakura engulfs shunsui, would it not do any damage or nothing unless he played along with the game? replace byakuya with anyone who's abilities are mostly kido based.
