Right. I'm not saying this trio of nobodies are gods in their own right, either. The numbers aren't something that magically appeared on their bodies like their own personal DBZ scouters. I think early on, I remember reference of some prior Espada being ousted in rank by someone that achieved a higher power level. Whatever routines they go through to measure this, we don't know. Combined with Aizen's influence, and the whole "King" thing, it just strikes me as one big pecking order and not an order of absolutes. I mean, if we want to go solely on things like that, Ichigo should've been killed trying to rescue Rukia because he was just a nobody ryoka wannabe shinigami that wasn't recognized as a captain, let alone a lieutenant.

And yeah, knowing Ul's number probably didn't help perception.

Fucking awesome. That actually excites me more. He brags about how hes the strongest, and hes cocky and hits people when they are down. For someone to be stronger than him, and for Ichigo to have to tangle with someone of that strength right now when hes hurt, Awesome. He had some trouble with Grimjow who was 6th, well until he heard Orihime, so for them to skip to that high of an espada should be fun. We'll get to see what the real difference in power is in them, he could be God-like compared to Grim.

Might be in the same reason that Grim spoke to Ulq way back when... seems like Ulq is the person to disrespect in the series, lol (remember, he's still locked up in the arrancar time/space warp thing, hehe). I do think that the power gap is fair between him and Ulq as well; all he's been doing so far is blowing hot air, and slashing weak people while they are unexpecting-- giving him a certain "air" of being a pussy. He's zanpaktou is fucking sweet tho, lol.
