I do love Ichigo's new mask look... now he looks like he's a valid contender for the vizards... I just don't like this plotkai where he's a contender for Yammy, whom, if we're to believe is stronger than Stark, is now weaker than everyone else... But, also, notice that the Getsuga in the last panel doesn't cut Yammy apart, it only pushes him to the ground.

I think we're going to see Ichigo going apeshit on Yammy and then someone has to interfere because he loses it.

I am, however, relieved to see Ichigo back in the ass-kicking mode he used to be in when he first got to soul society. This emo-Ichigo we've had to put up with for the last 3 years was getting stale. This is where he should have been at the beginning of the arc - kicking ass and taking names.

I'm also glad he doesn't have the hollow form he had when he killed Ulquiorra. That would have been too much. Judging by where this manga goes in the next few weeks, this could either turn out to be very good on Kubo's part or just very terrible overall.

I also agree with Souj that having Yammy yell out Ichigo's name like that seemed more like a fanservice "CURSE YOU" moment than an in-character gibe.

also:as far as his mask is concerned, maybe each line indicated how much of him was hollow and how much was shinigami. like depending on how much black covered his mask, 10%, 20%, the last time we see him use that mask it was almost a complete 50% of one side.
Ichigo is the only Vizard to undergo hollowfication this way, so assumably he has greater potential than all the other vizard and Arrancar that were transformed by the hyokugogokuyougokhouyko. so lets say all the espada and vizards are stuck at 60/40 ratio, and Ichigo's new mask/form is a perfect 50/50.

although at this point ichigo may be a 50/50 hybrid at this point I doubt this will be the last time his hollow is gonna change it up sense Kubo seems to like changing its shape and strength around radomly, but i guess if you were to look at the past facts about the hollow in him it would make sense for that to be it's last from.

Through the Hollow Classes I would probably say it wen't from a regular Hollow when it first manifested, bypassed Gillian level and went straight to Adjuchas level during training with the Vaizards sense it was relitively small and smart, and when it manifested with Ulqiorra it was probably at Vasto Lordes stage sense it was pretty much human.

But then to shoot down my theory i guess if he was Vasto by now he could talk...

That's something that I find a bit crappy, in the filler anime and the films, all the moves (except Urahara's nifty new one in the 3rd film) are repeated from manga segments.

Byakuya said he hates using that Utsusemi move because Yoruichi taught him it, yet he uses it whilst really not under pressure against Rukia's Zanpakuto.

i believe the only people who have see ichigo using his mask are; Orihime, Ulqiorra, Grimmjaw, Nel, Byakuya, that spanish Nino guy he 1st fought, and the Vizards
Ishida has only seen that thing he turned into fighting Ulquiorra, which may count.
so just Byakuya, Nel and Orihime. who are still alive.

there's a difference between seeing and knowing. I'm sure many more people know theres something up with Ichigo along those lines.

or because he beat several Vice captain and captain level shinigami and helped save SS from Aizen's plan..which still happened exactly how he planned it to go, if not better because of ishigos interferance. but they dont know that!
