Am I wrong in thinking that no captain has yet had a problem with an espada except for Soifon with Hax Barragan or Shunsui getting cheap shotted by Wonderweis? Byakuya wounded himself, Kenpachi was going easy, even Hitsugaya never seemed to be in danger against the number 3. What I'm getting at is I don't think it's far-fetched at all to think Byakuya and Kenpachi will annihilate Yammy.
Shunsui killed Stark pretty easily without his Bankai, I think the power of Captain >>> Power of Espada.

Ukitake got cheap shotted by Wonderweiss, then Shunsui got cheap shotted by Stark when he went after Wonderweiss.

What I found funny was that after taking that massive Cero blast Shunsui was fine. Lisa told him to stop playing dead. He either didn't want to kill Stark or he hoped the Vizards could handle him because he didn't feel like fighting in general. Then he stepped in when Love and Rose couldn't beat him and Love implied he has a history of interfering in fights, unlike pretty much any other shinigami ever.

I doubt Shunsui wasnt hurt by the Cero. he just stayed down longer than he had to.
and Hitsugaya probably would have lost to Halibel. he was on the defense almost the entire time, barely keeping up.

Neither Ichigo nor Shirosaki can be a Vasto Lorde because they're the third (fourth?) tier of Menos, afaik, neither was a Menos, they were just Ichigo/Shirosaki, unless hollows are allowed to be hollows before people die now. Having power equal to a Vasto Lorde is acceptable, calling him a Vasto Lorde is silly until Kubo retcons himself as to what Vasto Lorde is

Ichigo has technically died/started to grow a hollow.

This happened during the training with Urahara riiiight at the start of the series. Where he started to hollowify.
Then he has "died" now for real in the Ulquiorra fight (or at least that's how I saw it)

Edit: Oh, and missed your point about originally with Urahara. I don't believe that would be considered a hollow in the sense that it could devour other hollow and evolve that way, that was more likely just the creation of Shirosaki while gaining access to his own spirit power.

Also, Vasto Lorde will probably just end up being a level of power that's obtainable through that method, but any Hollow of that level of power would be considered a Vasto Lorde if it were to show up in HM and be all 'sup bitches what would you consider me'
