It bugs me because Ichigo V. Kenpachi in SS was a great fight, and the little bit of backstory was ok. How upset he was at the loss was what I liked the most, how he was almost in tears because he had been pushed so far. Now it seems almost like his character is only for fillers to pop out in some desperate situation, laugh like a maniac, lose his eyepatch and save the day. To me Kenpachi is going the way of Hitsuguya

Oh ya....I guess in all that reading the manga stuff....I forgot to read the manga. I've read every chapter and I still feel that way. What disproves what I said? he had a fight with Nnoitra which was great and then they went away from it. yeah, I'm a bit confused at what youre talking about exactly myself. He's had way more screen time than a lot of the other captains. How he acts in a fight has been the same everytime. savors the fight as long as he can. The ONLY thing that doesnt fit with Kenpachi is his Ichigo fight, which went the way it did ONLY because it was against Ichigo, the main character who had to win.

Kenpachi is nothing like Hitsugaya. Hitsugaya started out as some "genius" fighter, especially for his age, and has done nothing much but lose and takes hits and barely surviving.
Kenpachi has always been a person who enjoys his fights so much and blah blah blah gonna repeat myself blah blah.

The fact that every time Kenpachi fights its usually 6 or more chapters isn't enough right? They moved from Kenpachi v Nnorita ----> Ichigo v Ulquiorra ----> Karakura Town ---> Kenpachi/Byakuya v Yammy.


It's called story progression and Kenpachi has gotten plenty of face time.


Also all his fights in the filler movies are about 15 seconds long. So

I understand the point if you take Manga + Anime + Movies all together, Kenpachi does look like a laughing retard who does the same thing over and over.

However if you just look at the manga, which is the actual story, there has been some decent character development there. Another case of the anime and movies recycling material to be safe.

Don't even compare him to Hitsuguya though, has he even won a single fight yet? Everytime he unleashes an "awesome" move, the recipient just gets scratched a bit.

I think the only reason he keeps the eyepatch on for every appearance is because it would be like everyone just walking around in bankai. That's the only half way decent thing that comes to mind.

It's because keeping an eye covered leaves it adjusted for night vision, so he probably finds it uncomfortable to keep the eyepatch off in bright light.

I think the REAL reason is because Kubo forgot he took it off in the first place! Anyhow, I like how Ichigo was wanting to bring Orihime to Karkura, now she probably won't make it? Granted 4th division captain is going with him, I dunno seems like he's changing direction every chapter.

there is probably some reason like, he has the highest reiatsu since hes pretty much pure reiatsu and if he walked around without it then people would probably collapse and crap like with what happened to stark around other hollows.
