I don't know how in hell you guys are thinking Ichigo had hollow powers back when he first met Rukia. He clearly got them after Byakuya severed his soul chain and left him for dead, and was given the opportunity to awaken his own powers. Just so happens he didn't do it in a timely fashion; therefore, we have Shirosaki.

Byakuya cut the source of Rukia's borrowed powers from Ichigo. When Urahara killed Ichigo (or separated his soul, however you want to see it) that is when the hollow side began to form. Because Ichigo found his powers at the same time the hollow transformation almost completed, he kept both powers.

It's pretty different from how the others got their hollow powers. They were hollowfied. Ichigo had both a hole in his chest and was hollowfying, and discovered his shinigami powers in the process.

If anything, Ichigo is closer to an arrancar than he is a shinigami and he has been suppressing that side of himself this whole time.

Kinda makes you wonder how much sheer power he has running around inside him.
Most arrancar comprise of thousands if not millions of souls smashed together yet Ichigo's resurrection form utterly demolishes everything else we've seen an arrancar do almost casually. Now that i think of it... Ichigo alone probably has enough sheer power to Satisfy Aizen's plan of sacrificing a city for reiatsu.

I don't remember that Imperial White Sword shit at all, that was new for me. The filler is almost over, can't fucking wait for the anime to come back with new opening and shit. However, it's going to be such a short run until we're back to filler, I feel. Ugh...

Nah i think the writers did a little fridge logic which was explained in said episode kinda.
Shinigami have zanpakto which are a part of their soul.
The Zanpakto have powers.
Therefore the Zanpakto is technically a manifestation of the inner powers of the Shinigami.
Therefore it makes sense for a shinigami to figure out how to do that but for some reason it's alot easier to manifest said power via using a "prop" to represent the power itself in a way that the psyche can comprehend.
Muramasa can do it too since he is technically a manifestation of those powers.

I also forgot he had that move lol you would think he would use it against one of the espada or something but I guess the one he fought wasn't even that powerful.

so I just caught up in the manga (last chapter that is) and I have to know.. why the fuck he keeps using the whole "SURPRISE BUTTSECKS" scene. It's been discussed to death obviously, but really. D:

Also, I'm glad SOMEONE important finally died. About fucking time.
