The problem is that we don't need to be shown how strong Aizen is. Especially when he ran from all the Captains in SS at the end of the first arc. I mean, come on. If you could have just killed them all right then and there you could just have killed them then went and made the King's Key with no opposition.

Kubo has essentially wasted the last 4 years with a meaningless arc. Why care about the Espada anymore? They're weaker than Aizen and SS, but stronger than Ichigo used to be.

I don't understand why the captains were somehow stronger than the espada at all. It seemed like at the end of the SS arc ichigo was on par with or stronger than most of the captains, than ichigo is outclassed by most of the espada until he can control/stay in vizard form, than the captians come in and stomp all over espada stronger than the ones ichigo barely defeated in vizard form. Kenpachis relative power to ichigo between both arcs especially makes no sense.

I forgot, why did Aizen come back out of hiding again? I really don't feel like going back through a year's worth of chapters and reading the reasoning behind leaving hueco mundo and coming back to 'earth.'

Something about the spirit mile that is Karakura Town presumably being useful for the creation of the King's Key. It's all kind of vague, and I guess the initial plan was to get Orihime so Ichigo would go to HM and presumably get trapped there/killed while Aizen may've assumed SS would do nothing.

karakura town has enough souls he can absorb into the hogyoku to make the king's key, which will allow him access to the king's realm, where he wants to kill the king and take over. if i remember all that right.

Not like they were particularly useful other then zoning and kiting Captains for Aizen, I also doubt Karakura Town was collectively stronger then Hueco Muendo so why not just start raping hollows instead of going through the trouble with this town? Why does he even give a shit about the King's Realm besides the stereotypical empty bad-guy rhetoric of "wanting to take over teh universe!!?"

Plot's a complete mess that's riddled with holes at this moment unless Kubo can pull off an MGS4 epic style story arc that makes everything make sense.

with DBZ it was exactly the same with everyone. also, I fucking hated the good guys/bad guys. actually. I hated the animation. akira toriyama's art is shit

but anyways, kubo fucked himself even more. Like others have said, I don't think any ending he can make will be enjoyable.

The thing about Unohana is that her role as a medic is entirely voluntary, she chose to stay on the backlines and offer medical support, and does so with enthusiasm. Her shikai is an accurate reflection of her feelings on her role, what with it's digestive juices being a healing agent.

She may have combat ability, but she may not. We know she has an imposing presence, perhaps powerful reiatsu, and that she came up with Yamamoto, Shunsui, and Ukitake, which suggests formidable fighting ability, but it's not absolute.

If we never see her fight, it wouldn't surprise me.


I think the one thing about this story that has bothered me more than Aizen's power is his lack of backstory. It's hard to read his motivations (or even care about them), without knowing where he's coming from, but I did recently have a notion:


What if Aizen isn't trying to enter the King's Realm (referred to hereafter as Heaven for the sake of brevity), for the first time? What if he's trying to re-enter Heaven?

Consider Aizen as a representation of Lucifer. Perhaps in the distant past, he was removed from Heaven and banished to the lower Soul Society, and has since been focusing his efforts on returning there, albeit by surreptitious means.

Aizen as a fallen right-hand to the King, as a Lucifer representation, would explain the raw power he wields effortlessly, and explain his motivation for attempting to conquer Heaven.

Anyway, all of Ichigo's "Power Ups" just involve him being able to yell Getsuga Tensho a little louder and having it actually damage something. It's getting kinda lame.

What's getting lame is that while Aizen is curb-stomping everyone (which means he's finally doing more than Naraku did, officially) he's also taunting them saying "You have no reason to fight me".

Well, what the fuck. You're trying to kill millions of innocent people (as you stated when you said you were going to kill them and then go make the King's Key) so of course they have a reason to fight you. I can't believe Ichigo would let him get in his head that quickly. Shit, if I were Ichigo I'd be like "Yea I did save Orihimme and I killed all your shitty Espada that were supposed to be so god awfully strong. You're also trying to vaporize my town. I have plenty of reasons to fight you, shitface."

Kubo's trying to create this air of hopelessness that nobody can defeat Aizen and I'm just not buying it. It's not because Aizen isn't impossibly strong, it's that he's too strong. He's so strong that with all the captains there and with Ichigo there and now Unohana, there should be no reason nobody can at least damage him. It shouldn't seem so hopeless that all the captains get one-shotted while Yamamoto is masturbating in the corner.

Seriously. I don't believe Aizen is really that strong. Why? Come on now. If Kubo wanted to make Aizen strong, he'd have the captains all use Bankai, or masks, or other shit, and have them go all out and Aizen still comes out on top.

I'm not going to believe Aizen is WOAMGSTRONG just because he took out Rose in Shikai (in a really stupid way), blocked the kido captain's most powerful spell with a shitty high-level kido (which was retarded), and cut down Komamura in Bankai (which he has done before).

I said before. If they were intelligent and really wanted to win this fight, they would all be using their shikai to their fullest potential (or just going Bankai).

Kubo doesn't know how to write this kind of story. I'm aware that going all out would end the manga because Aizen would be dead and crisis averted... but all these characters not giving their all is like Goku not going Super Saiyan against Cell after he just wiped out the planet. It's a stupid way to advance the plot.

With all this buildup of Aizen being impossible to take down, it's entirely possible that Orihime is gonna "reject" him out of existence. Fucking retarded? Yes. But this is Kubo we're dealing with.

IIRC the plotkai around this is that he needed a concentration of souls with high reiatsu of "one spirit mile" or some such bullshit (I really don't feel like digging through manga for it lol). So therefore, despite the fact he did have a good amount of superpowered arrancar, they would still fall short of the needed souls to make the kings key.

There also might be something about needing human souls as opposed to souls of the dead (aka hollow, shinigami), but I can't remember.

Not saying it makes sense at all, but I figure that's how Kubo can bullshit his way out of the plot hole.
