I do believe many of you have lost base/faith in the manga, and just going through the motions. Like that nigga Hirokei Kiaza. Always ready to call Kubo on manga-trolling every other chapter.

Even if I feign surprise sometimes in the manga chapters, I do try and enjoy it for what it is.

That's nothing like saying that. That's actually like saying "Sure, Shunsui has bankai. But if all Shunsui had was bankai then there would be people who could still beat him. Truth is, Shunsui is strong because he's powerful."

Gin- Sure Aizen has a shikai, but if all he had was a shikai he could be defeated. He's much stronger than even his shikai.

All this is trying to show is that the captains aren't nearly at the level necessary to compete with Aizen.

It could be a problem if Aizen's bankai/transformation is underwhelming compared to what he is now, but it doesnt contradict in any way the current event.

Was watching this week's episode and I found myself really enjoying it. Had that old school Bleach feel to it. As far as the manga, fuck what you heard, a trolls a troll trolling.

I don't necessarily think the problem lies with the fact he doesn't need to use his shikai, but that he used it in such a way right after Gin, who rarely says anything with a serious state of mind, gave a big speech about how he doesnt need to use his shikai.
Gin saying that stuff seemed real out of character at the time, and it didn't even really add anything to that chapter or the next, meaning it was wasted page space.

also I think people are just mad because it looked like Aizen was actually something other than a plot device that can actually get hurt, but ends up a massive troll.

not to mention if Hinomori actually does die from this, her coming back to life from the first time Aizen killed her was an utterly complete waste of time that could have been focused on other slightly useless characters.

from what I can remember, the good guys have had like 12 death scenes, but yet noone has actually died. and those 12 are only shared between 5 people. Renji, Hinamori, Ichigo, Chad and Rukia

The biggest surprise Bleach has ever given me was when someone posted how Ichigo's mask evolved as the manga went on. And it wasn't a big surprise, more of a "Hey, thats kinda cool".

It also occurred to me that Aizen has never used KS illusion without Gin being present. At least, not in the manga. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if the illusions we're Gin's power all along and he was just using Aizen as a decoy.

Well, to put it a little like Souj has, it's very different.

The problem isn't that Aizen couldn't use his Shikai. Gin's three page speech was a colossal waste of plot and page space. He basically says that Aizen doesn't need to rely on his shikai to win, which is contradicted immediately after by showing that he did indeed need to rely on his shikai to win.

I'm not saying Aizen isn't strong, I'm saying that it's a little pointless to tout how strong he is and then further elaborating by saying his shikai is dangerous but not as dangerous as his strength, only for him to have been using his shikai the whole time.

It's almost as dumb as Unohana saying Ichigo is a trump card, and then he gets outclassed completely. Or almost as dumb as none of them going absolutely all out to kill Aizen... or almost as dumb as... the list can go on. Kubo's issue is that he doesn't properly connect his story or his characters.

I could totally swallow Aizen as a villain if he single-handedly dismantled every captain even though they teamed up, or if he tanked the hit and busted out some awesome kido to defeat them like he did with Komamura.

But no. He relied on his shikai. Again. For the thirtieth time. It's getting stale. They already built up his shikai.. and then when they started building up his strength... they fell right back onto his shikai. Heck, it would have been more believable that he used it at the last second to escape after Shunsui nabbed him. I mean, if he was using illusions, who the fuck was thinking "oh lordie stupid hitsugaya lol omg i'm reversed" and who was cutting down captains and catching shit barehanded?

Please.

You'd have to forget the fact that Gin killed that 3rd seat many years after Aizen was already established as a VC.

Then we are in agreement regardless still-- that's what I mean lol. It's just Kubo's roundabout way to say Aizen doesn't need KS at all, seeing as his (un)natural Shinigami ability/reiatsu is light-years farther than everyone else's. I'm almost certain he's on the level of the old man (lolgiant surprise seen by everyone?) and he is just displaying KS to mow everyone down to get to the key faster.

I'm sure if this was just simply a training session between everyone and the old man, the same thing would happen, minus the illusionary crap and plus the hyper flames and soul crushing reiatsu.

I can see everyone's annoyance with Aizen, but he is probably one of the most well made shounen baddies of all time, lol. Well, until that nigga Kenpachi decides to become the bad guy.
