It wasn't wasted space for him to learn of it, it was just foreshadowing something to come. (Too lazy to confirm this, but I'm pretty sure that's how it was. Unless this arc ends with Aizen retreating there is no point in foreshadowing something we're going to see so soon. As it was explained a few posts up, Gin's statement of "not needing his release to own shit" still stands in my view.

Was mentioned a page or so back iirc, but this entire fight just screams of being Aizen just wanting to fuck with the Captain's (especially Hitsugaya's) heads. Uses his release to make them all think they're getting ahead, and then BAM reveals that Hitsu just impaled his girlie. After which, Aizen promptly fucks them all up in one panel... which pretty much reinforces what Gin was saying.

I don't see that as relying on his release or absolutely needing it to win. I see it as Aizen just being an evil bastard and wanting to fuck with his opponent's heads before demolishing them.

EDIT: And the whole Gin explaining Aizen's strength bit, it was a complete absolute waste of panels. The fact Gin was talking shit how Aizen would have been defeated long ago if he only had his shikai then the second a threat comes up where all the captains and vizards use their attacks in unison, Aizen repels them relying on his shikai, it's hypocritical. Unless Gin is ready to say he misjudged the strength of the captains and vizards invovled at the moment, the whole shit was stupid and unnecessary.

He seems like the man who would go down the "Less effort" route.

Edit: The only thing Gin is saying is that even without his Shikai, which most of the Characters seem to think is his biggest strength, he could still kick all their asses.

Still makes sense he'd do whatever is easier for him, no? and since he claims his Shikai is akin to a heart beat (I.E Always happening without thought), it would be reasonable that using Shikai to defeat them would be easier than kicking their asses without it.

Too much rage and over-analyzing going on in here. Look, if you are going to call out Kubo for this one, call him out for having the end result being beyond obvious to us all. It shocked no one.

Gin's speech wasn't wasted. Kubo has had all of the characters talk about Aizen's powers and how they are so dangerous that he hasn't bothered to also say: "oh hay, he is also hax in other ways too". That's why Gin gave his speech, to refocus on the fact that Aizen is more than KS. Also, it doubled on an attempt (albeit poor) to try to trick the reader into thinking Aizen wouldn't bother using KS in the fight.

However, he did, and like I said before, I think he did it just to fuck with everyone rather than necessity. Aizen had zero issues fighting off all the captains and the vizards and then all of a sudden he gets owned by their abilities? I don't think so. Re-read the chapter and take a look at Aizen after he reveals himself: zero wounds. He didn't get trapped, say "oh shit" and then used KS to escape the killing blow.

Stop reading too much into what Gin said because y'all are letting that dialogue throw you off the tracks more than it should. Kubo's plot has consistently been far more simplistic than that for years. Gin's speech could be summed up as "Aizen is a bad motherfucker, yo". And Aizen went ape-shit on everyone after he used KS and proved it.

Kubo is far from the best or most consistent writer ever, but he didn't blow this one as badly as some of y'all are making it out to be.
