Obviously Aizen is broken as hell, no one is arguing that.
My whole point is the fact that they spent a good chunk of a chapter talking about how Aizen would've lost long ago if only he had his shikai, only for the very next chapter to contradict that fact against the very best captains of Soul Society minus Yamamoto and Unohana. Shunsui and Shinji didn't even fucking go bankai and they got owned from stupid shit.
I guess obviously Gin must've been talking about niggas with grapefruit sized nuts that would intimidate Aizen's insecurities.
I don't know why you're all still arguing it's a contradiction, as indicated by the one-swing-four-pwnt, he's obviously using it to fuck with them
And showing the whole Gin shpeel was a waste of time.
Except no, because Aizen just showed off that he's crazy strong without his shikai. Ya know, since he sliced up three captains and a vaizard in one panel... thus proving Gin right and making his speech relevant.
It's evil villainy 101: As the villain you don't just go for the quick kill. You fuck with the heroes' heads first before you gut them.
People grasping for straws to hate Kubo, in my Bleach thread? naw.
him dicing 4 captains up would be a big deal if the captains weren't already torn to shit beforehand. I guess he gets more credit though for destroying Lisa like it was nothing, along with Love and Rose. or the vaizards just suck balls who were hyped up to be badass but turned out to be... ehhhhh..... wut.... I probably had my hopes set too high for them.
the WW fight would be more interesting seeing how he 1shotted the white haired captain, whose name I forgot. Or even gin who shut hiyori down
hopefully kubo makes use of yamamoto. I'll enjoy aizen as a villain more if he destroys yamamoto. That would be interesting, I think. (I would probably bitch though because it's fucking yamamoto but it would be a good gauge to see just how strong as fuck aizen is)
I want Yamamoto to show up sooner, so his inevitable charge up over 3 chapters (is it just me or has his abilities always been dragged out as taking a long time?) gets done and over with
I agree that Aizen is strong (for the fourteenth time) but Gin's speech is still a waste of space.
Take Aizen's shikai out of the equation and he would have been wrecked from the get-go by all of the captains who were there. He was using it just about the entire fight after they all charged. According to Gin, Aizen's raw strength is what makes him fearsome, which is evident after he takes down all the captains 'at once'.
Reading that a few times, I could see that Gin's statement has some water since Aizen could just have been screwing with everyone because he can and really could have won at any time.
But believing that not only cheapens how strong the other captains are supposed to be, it shows that if he can simply one-shot Shunsui and Shinji, two captains who are veterans and are supposed to be insanely strong, what chance does Ichigo believably have (besides plot armor)?
Only 'natural' (see spoiler) Vaizard is only thought I have
Spoiler: show
you suck at posting.
Apparently Kubo succeeded in making several people rage hard this week by the look of this topic. This whole chapter, while it makes me facepalm, is not in the least surprising.
Just forget about the Gin speech, we already knew Aizen was uber powerful back in SS when he used a 90th level Kidou on Captain Dogface without an incantation, and knocked him out with it at less than 1/3 of its power. And what he did to Ichigo here with a finger?

Just stop raging and arguing over the fact that Aizen is doing broken things, he's been broken the moment we knew he was still alive and the actual mastermind, and probably more broken now if he's become a true Shinigami/Hollow hybrid.
Kubo has an awful track record of hyping something up only to make it into complete shit later. First, the Espada were supposed to be strong enough to defeat the captains. Now they're all dead. Then, the Vaizard were supposed to be some amazing shit that could out-class a Captain. They're all defeated now. Ichigo was supposed to be the only one with a fighting chance against Aizen. He couldn't touch him. So what now? Either Ichigo gets bitch slapped and forced into some SSJ4 Hollow transforming training, or Aizen is just as over hyped as everything else Kubo throws at us.
I never understood why Aizen changed his look. He looks like a giant douchebag now. .
Ya the glasses and such really helped to make his character seem much more deceptive and easier to mistake him for some mild mannered person. Now Aizen looks like the average Japanese representation of a preppy looking douchebag.
Little known fact Aizen wears popped collars in the real world when he visits.
I'm a go with BS on your call. Aizen's shikai, or no Aizen's shikai, he would have wrecked everyone's shit, hence Gin's speech. It goes right back to my "Street Fighter II" argument, regardless of how you slice it. He can win without shikai. He's just using it to quickly mow down the captains to get at the King's Key.
Also I'm almost certain Shinji, Shunsui and Uchitake will get up and fight with the Old Man vs Aizen. If they don't then Kubo is definitely trolling.
Regardless of the outcome, one of 3 things will eventually happen at the very end of this arc:
1) Fight: Ichigo vs. Aizen; Ichi wins.
1a) Gin reveals himself to be the grand schemer behind Aizen Gin fights and pwns and/or retreats.
1b) Aizen and Gin retreat and formulate some hidden way to acquire the King's Key regardless.
1c) Something random happens, fucking the entire story up. (i.e. Aizen finds another set of robot masters or something; Grimmjow and/or Nelliel coming out of no where)
2) Fight: Ichigo vs. Aizen; Aizen wins.
2a) Aizen makes the King's Key and enters the King's Dimension.
2b) Isshin and/or Urahara and/or Yourchi enters the fray randomly, starting his (Isshin's) own arc/gaiden.
2c) Gin pwns Aizen from behind and reveals himself to be the grand schemer in the background. Gin vs Ichigo or retreats.
2d) Something random happens, fucking the entire story up. Aizen, Ichigo and/or Gin are both pwned in the process by the new, greater evil.
2e) Any combination of 2a~e.
3) Fight Ichigo vs. Aizen; stalemate.
3a) Ichigo finds that he can't win, but Aizen has the upperhand; Isshin joins the fray and reveals that he's in the Zeroth Division staring his own arc/gaiden.
3b) Urahara/Tessai/Yoruchi join the fray randomly, and adds more plot holes to the story
3c) Aizen retreats under the stalemate, seeing as he cannot win for now.
3d) Gin pwns Aizen from behind and reveals himself to be the grand schemer in the background. Gin vs Ichigo or retreats.
3e) Something random happens, fucking the entire story up. Aizen, Ichigo and/or Gin are both pwned in the process by the new, greater evil.
That covers just about everything.
