Yama defeats Wonderweiss.
Aizen reveals that Wonderweiss has absorbed the destructive power of RJ and releases it upon death.
Yama throws himself onto WW's corpse to absorb the blast.
Aizen comes to Yama to finish him off.
Yama grabs Aizen by the leg and uses Hado #96 on him, which burns the real Aizen (who was trying to escape).
As Aizen begins to swipe down on Yama Vizard Ichigo saves the day.

I'm going to say that Wonderweiss's purpose wasnt to cancel the fire, but to absorb it for an eventual release when he is destroyed. The explosion will take out Yamato.

I'm lol'ing because it was the most unoriginal trap card he could pull. I'm sure everyone would have guessed it, it's just that there was so many better alternative to this....

Yea, I'd say given the circumstances there wasn't much else Kubo could do. He didn't want to diminish Yama's power and didn't want to make Aizen seem stronger so all he could do was make it so that Yama defeated himself.

It doesnt help that Kubo wrote himself into a corner, but there is two things that annoy me. If we were all smart enough to figure out Aizen's plan, why Yamato isn't smart enough to see it comming? He know Aizen is smart, and he heard the exact same thing we did.... Why not pull a counter to the trap (blow him next to Aizen taking everyone down in the process). I know everyone is dumb in Bleach's universe, but there is a limit to stupidity.

The second thing is wonderweiss being completely neglected in the process. I hope he isnt dead, because that's the most pathetic character ever mad. He could have done something else than just explode...

I still remember the scene between him and Tousen where Tousen seemed to regret the path they choose...or something like this. I thought it was foreshadowing....I was so wrong. Both character got killed out of nowhere without accomplishing anything.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. Maybe he is blocking it because it wasn't going to take out Aizen, but would harm other ...but yeah, that's stupid writting when you have to stretch the scene to make sense of it.

One could assume even if Yamato came, WW could do what he is doing now... absorb the flame and then explode on defeat. Then any number of scenarios could be made up afterward.

Besides, if what they say about negacion is correct, they can use it to retreat whenever things get rough so perhaps WW could never truly have been in danger. Makes me wonder why it's not used as an in-battle form of defense if it's as impenetrable as previously implied.
