Yama is a stereotypical historical Japanese leader: ignore any injustice and write it off for the sake of the good of the clan/club/family/ect. You could argue that that could extend to any historical leader, but some leaders at least lied about not standing for any injustice.

There has been so much shady shit going down, even in terms of who becomes captain and where they come from, but it's all good to Yama, so long as hollows get purged.

What makes me nervous is what Aizen said. If Yama's flames are truly permanently extinguished, then its looking like this goes two ways.

The word "permanent" was never said. Yes, they're sealed... but I'm pretty sure someone like Yamamoto would be able to break that seal. Perhaps not in the middle of battle, but I highly doubt his shit is gonna stayed locked up for long.

Think of it this way. Remember those hinamori comics? Imagine if Aizen actually repeated that using Yamamoto vs all the shinigami there. They didnt know about wonderwiess so what was expected would have been a scenario possibly including what i mentioned above.
If Ichigo can fight vs aizen on an even level or at least get past the shikai due to never having seen it then that's more than everyone other than yamamoto can do.

Um the "sealed" powers were released instantly when WW died and being that WW was the reason Yama's sword was sealed I don't really see any reason why ryujin jakka wouldn't be functioning again. No where was it said that the sword has been permanently sealed. I think Yama at this point is out of it from taking such a massive hit but I bet he'll back Bleach characters are harder to kill than cockroaches.

Also I'm curious but maybe there is something to being able to overcome Aizen's illusions. In the past Shinji seemed to be able sense Aizen through his illusions but I'm not sure if that was his sword's power or something else. Seems logical that there would be some people or some way that could break the illusion.

Plotkai. Aizen's shikai was necessary to make Ichigo important. It's a little bit of a plothole that all Yama had to do was wait for dumbass to grab him so that he could just fry him (which honestly, he should have just done in the first place) but instead he waited until all captains were down.

The reason why it makes a little sense is because Yama's raw power from his shikai alone was enough to obliterate not only the town but a lot of the surrounding area as well. That's a lot of power for one guy to roll with. He would have taken out not only the pillars but most of the "area" with no guarantee Aizen would have been stuck in the blast.
