...Yet he didn't think to just wail on Aizen this entire time until he lost his Zan, his favorite officers were defeated, Ichigo got punked out, Vizards get downed, Kensei is MIA, and Unohana is downstairs healing Hiyori (who holds the record for longest surviving dead girl ever).

Hisagi (never showed him do anything but stay near Tousen when he died)
Omaeda (who flew off to fight Aizen and disappeared mid-flight)

I mean... Kubo completely forgets about his characters. It's a wonder he can find time to write a backstory for his main villain let alone write a coherent story with his gigantic cast of characters.

Don't forget Isshin, Kisuke, Yoruichi and Tessai. All of whom should be strong enough to actually make a difference in this battle. Kisuke and Yoruichi both should have bankai, and I'm really hoping Isshin would. Plus Tessai is better than Hacchi (or at least was, I'm guessing Kisuke wouldnt let his skills rust)

none of these people will come yet. the 1st people to arrive will be Keigo, Tatsuki and Mizuiro(had to wiki his name) , all with new special powers.

Yama charred his own arm using the attack on Aizen.
Aizen is reflecting on this while he escapes and Ichigo appears.
Ichigo actually connects with the attack, but Aizen is completely unharmed as he has apparently implanted the Hougyokou in himself.
He tells Ichigo that every one of his battles, from Grimmjow to Ulquiorra, was specifically manipulated by him to put him in the palm of his hand.
