YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME
Yeah, I just read the latest chapter.
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME
Yeah, I just read the latest chapter.
To quote AVGN.... Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaass. What an awful chapter. I'm not gonna be like the majority and say I'm done with Bleach, cause I'd be lying. It takes <90 seconds to go through a chapter... but ugh. Just put a picture of Kubo next to the definition of troll.
So how many people sat there, with their left hand on their cheek as they read this shit and just scoffed at the end then closed the manga? I know I did.
I think it would be too early coz Inuyasha manga didn't actually end. some of the animation series programs are still running on it.
Someone should just give Ichigo the Tetsaiga at this point.
I wanna know who is actually surprised by that, seriously, the way he left Ulqiorra who "had a hidden level of power that even Aizen didn't know about" to draw out more of Ichgo's strength. The whole turn back the pendulum arc setting up this very "revelation" due to that line at the end.
"Remember, the betrayal you see is trivial compared to that which you do not."
His dad ending up on Earth, in close proximity to Urahara, Rukia winding up with the Hougyoku, and I'm sure Orihime had some hand in awakening it or implanting it or something, while also serving as the perfect bait to get Ichgo to complete Aizen's "reach the maximum ultimate super hybrid power level".
Hollowfication + Soul Reaper sent to live in the human world + half human hybrid kid + exposure to soul reaper abilities + lots of battles to bring out his potential = what Aizen just stated.
What. The. FUCK?!
amazing chapter! never saw that coming that's for sure..how can Aizen be so freaking cool!!!
So what you're saying is Urahara is in on this with Aizen? And Mayuri?
No, I'm saying Urahara was left in a position to discover what happened to Shinji and the rest, try to save them, and produce the useful little doohickie that Aizen stuck in his chest.
Mayuri was just Urahara's bitch back in the day, remember.
Mayuri part was a joke, but you mentioned the betrayal, I assumed you were pointing at Urahara then by bringing up all that history -- honestly wouldn't be surprised.
Nah, there is shit he set up with the Central 46 and whatnot, and I'm sure he Xanatos'D almost all of Ichgo's backstory to do something with him when he flips out and goes batshit super hollow saiyajin 3 in after 12 more chapters of "hah hah, you thought you hacked the Hougyoku out of my chest, but it was actually your own chest, and I'm you" type stuff like that hilarious comic a couple pages back.
I'm sorry, I have to go with everyone else Max. This chapter was a waste of a week and just terrible.
No plot progression... no important revelation... just one really shitty twist that's supposed to make you go OMGWOWHEISSOAWESOME but it doesn't.
This is just something EVERYONE expected to happen because it's Aizen. It's not so much the whole Hougyokou in the chest thing that's unbelievable - it's that the last 10-15 chapters have all led up to creating an opening for Ichigo to exploit and when he finally does, Aizen shrugs it off again with a "lol just as planned" moment.
It's like Kubo's running out of ideas for Aizen's progression.
Let's put it this way - I would rather have had Gin jump in the way and Ichigo battle Gin while Aizen watches on than what we just got.
It does nothing but feel like a cheap way for Kubo to connect his earlier plot (which was great) to this newer shit (which is not). Like I said - prequel trilogy.
Aizen's just-as-planned shit is like the Jar Jar Binks of Bleach. Enough already.
I'm seriously getting sick of Aizen's just as planned face.
Perhaps it's just that I mentally edited it down to like 30 awesome chapters, and only really remember the stuff I mentioned in that post, all the rest is just filler so I snipped it.
If they ever make a Bleach Kai like they are doing with DBZ, it has potential to be fucking fantastic.
Also: I really like swords, the only manga I actively look forward to these days are Vagabond, Claymore, Berserk, Tenjo Tenge, and the once in a blue moon awesome chapters of Bleach/more silly jokes to make about Sharingan Tanks from Naruto.
Yea, it's not a matter of the pacing being terrible. When you read the manga from beginning to end the pacing is great because you don't wait for the next chapter for progression.
As a weekly manga, however, the pacing is awful when compared to the rest of the story. The fact that you could read this manga in less than two hours if you had every chapter laid out in front of you and still be nowhere story-wise is atrocious.
The last two years (that's right, two years) have been building up to this moment where Ichigo finally shows Aizen that he's underestimating everyone and needs to rethink his strategy... and lo and behold - the whole 'ace in the hole' and 'trump card' was also part of his strategy.
It's seriously enough. Aizen already has defeated every captain (except the obvious ones and Yamamoto) with a single strike. He's already embedded the Hogo in himself. He's already shown that he's miles above Ichigo when he's prepared. Now that all of this has taken place, instead of the obvious happening (where the Hogo should have remade him or changed him instead of healing him) we have what we have been given the last two years - a chapter full of talking and no progression.
On top of that, Kubo has forgotten that most of the rest of his supporting cast exists - Kuukaku, Ikkaku, Yumichika, Tessai, Urahara, Jinta, Ururu, Ganju, Isshin, Tatsuki, Mizuiro, Keigo, and Ishida's father (to name a few) which could play pivotal roles in Ichigo's progress or this fight.
Heck, just Tatsuki running out and going "OMG ICHIGO I BELIEVE IN YOU JUST BEAT HIM LOL" instead of another LOLihimme Kurosaki-kun moment would be nice. Kubo just doesn't think that far ahead.
Just because he makes drawings and connects things does not show that he thought ahead of time. He probably thought as far out as the arrancar arc and when he got to the part where they actually invade HM his mind went blank and he once again started making shit up.
Aizen wasn't even supposed to be the main protagonist. You can tell Kubo came up with the whole "illusion" thing because it was the only way he could write himself out of this hole and he uses it like a crutch.
I love this manga, but he really needs to pull his head out of his ass. His art is beautiful but his storytelling needs work.
Yeah, like I said, I mentally edit it to be better I'm sure. It's too stylishly drawn to let myself admit it's as dumb as it really is.![]()
If Aizen had never, ever used the "just as planned" or "you were in my illusion all along--if he had stayed behind the scenes up until the pseudo-Karakura invasion, then this shit would have been mind blowing. It would have been an epic revelation.
But as it is, we've been watching him use the same shit repeatedly since the end of the Soul Society arc. Not only is it cheap, it's become quite frustrating and predictable. A twist in the story is no longer a twist when it's used to in every single scenario.
What hurts most is that Bleach is a gorgeous manga, Kubo can draw like a motherfucker. But Jesus fuck, his storytelling just about undoes the comic's beauty.
i must be one of the only people in the world that enjoys bleach for its Art work but hell most of you guy on here must all be Manga artists with awards out the ass? no really well fuck that shit then, honestly this week wasn't the best and for the next few weeks yeah Aizen's going to be one upping out his ass but don't bitch about it just enjoy Mask #3 and Aizen jerry curl with gem in his chest because the mini arc will be super....
