You know i wonder if Urahara intentionally made Ichigo have his hollow. I mean look at how everything has worked out in this series. Just food for thought. What do you all think?

I'd really like to see both Isshin and Urahara get involved in Heuco Mundo to see how strong they are. I can see them coming in to deal with Tousen and Gin while they leave Aizen to Ichigo. That seems unlikely though, since Urahara seems more like a mastermind who is creating all of these struggles for the purpose of making Ichigo stronger... he made the Hougyoku, sent Ichigo & co. to Soul Society, etc.

Urahara definitely is behind a lot of what happens in the series. Even if it isn't ever said explicitly, one can definitely assume it.

If I remember right, during the Soul Society Arc, while Yuroichi was training Ichigo for Bankai, she made a comment that her and Urahara used to train for long periods of time in that same place so I'm sure that was at least part of how he got to where he is strength wise. I'm sure there were other factors that we'll find out about later, but that much has been revealed already at least.

Aizen mentioned before leaving Soul Society he personally had reached the limit of captain in all different areas of techniques and wanted to break that barrier by tapping into hollow powers using the Hougyoku.

Considering Urahara created the Hougyuku, it's possible he reached that same point back when he was captain of the 12th division which could be why he created it in the first place. Pure speculation of course.

Well, in Bleach universe, "limit" mean more than that. It usually refer to a new type of release or something involving hollow/shinigami (vizard, espada's release). You train for a bankai, you train to control your vizard's form, but you rarely get stronger without some sort of upgrade.

Quite possibly Urahara made Ichigo's "transfomation" in a silimar likeness to that of what the Hougyuku is intended to do.

But the anime is going pretty well so far. Shitty filler can be forgiven when you have a decent pace when you're following the manga.
