I do remember that, and I remember discussing that very line with people in this thread. If Zaraki ever learned its name, this manga would cease to exist.
I find it easier to believe that Kubo was simply making it up as he went, and simply decided to make Isshin a sleeper shinigami ex post facto.
Given the joking nature of most of these, I wouldn't exactly call such a claim absolute. For all the bitching about Kubo not knowing what he's doing, I find it kinda funny some people say he would know in this case.
In the event of another arc moving up to even stronger baddies, Kenpachi possibly learning it just so he could be around would be a feasible possibility. However, it's more likely we'd get another cast dump with various Zero Squad members and gratuitous Hitsugaya time for no good reason.
I'm pretty sure we just got one hell of a cast dump. Hopefully the captains won't play as much of a role as they have been playing. There isn't much else to show off for most of them now.
For Kenny, there's always ways to boost his power. For the VCs, they could always learn Bankai. For the other Captains, what else can they do? Show their true power?
Other than the strong captains (Shunsui, Ukitake, Shinji, Unohana) there isn't much else to show.
Personally, waiting for everyone to get the shit kicked out of them, Ichigo get his ass handed to him within an inch of his life, Orihime shows up, gets pissed to an all time high and finally has enough emotion/anger/hatred towards Aizen for Tsubaki to kill him.
To me, that's a just as planned.
He said he knew about him from the time he was born so he obviously knew who is dad was. This means, even if Isshin had the kid in SS or on Earth, he knew where and who Isshin was. He didn't just pretend the guy disappeared and is gone forever, especially if he would be strong enough to stand in the way of any of Aizen's future plans. Come on...
Also, his face at the end of chapter 397 isn't one of shock, awe, or "oh my gosh, you are still alive/came out of the blue", it is one of "took you long enough to arrive".
Hello? Are we reading the same manga here?
That's a bit of assuming. I agree with your point that Aizen probably knew who Ichigo's dad was, but you can't really say that Aizen expected him based on lack of reaction.
I'm pretty sure Aizen could be confronted by a humanoid cupcake in a Shinigami robe, and unless that shit started knocking him through buildings he's gonna have the same facial expression.
Facial expresions are often the easiest way to read or understand...anything; often times more so than words. I figured most of you were capable of this ability and/or reasoning though.
You're telling me you can't read whats going through his mind in this picture:

Really? Really? ("We're talking bout PRACTICE mang....PRACTICE!!")
If this is the case, no wonder so many of you get angry at this manga...just wow.
Edit:
If you can't derive what he is thinking, I will give you the answer: "Been waiting on you!"
An important thing to note is that there are two parts to storytelling. The first part is what the writer implies. The second is wha the reader infers. Neither side can dictate the other.
In my entire life, I have never heard of the "Been waiting on you" facial expression. Perhaps no one has ever been waiting on me, however.
Been waiting on you = what took you so long = I knew you would eventually show up = Lets do this
Manga synonyms brother...manga synonyms, but if you couldn't infer the above-mentioned, or back-paged, to begin with, I wouldn't expect you to understand this relatively simple concept either.
And I'm sure Byakuya doesn't actually use Senbonzakura to cut his hair. I doubt anyone is legitimately making the claim it's an absolute fact on the bit about Kenpachi's zanpaktou. It's an omake, I think we all understand what that entails as far as anything canonical to a main story. I would like to think the crayon explanation's often used in these would be a hint.
Actually i interpret that as more of a look of arrogance. Aizen had just beaten the biggest threat to him and the most powerful shinigami of all whom was unmatched for several thousand years. He didn't seriously expect some random schmuck like Isshin to be a bigger threat. The entire fight with Isshin until the middle finger of doom was him basically mopping up the remaining cannon fodder going from the facial expressions. The look of dull surprise on Aizen is him still processing the fact that a single finger flick is slamming into a building. The thought in his head atm is something along the lines of "why am i moving backwards?"
Uh, I'm pretty sure Aizen know exactly what Isshin is able to considering he just said he had something to do with Ichigo birth
It'd be Kubo's dumbest fucking plot-hole to date if Aizen didn't know who Isshin was or what he was capable of. He just stated no less then a chapter ago he was paying close attention to Ichigo due to some special circumstance surrounding his birth, something Isshin was obviously a part of. Kubo is bad but come on, he's not flat-out retarded.
Well well...look at this, at least some of you can interpret this...
Stop overdoing yourself.
