If he was that powerful it would have been known when he was in SS; he most likely would have been a captain or vice captain, which means he is pretty powerful in SS terms. He was obviously there at some point or Aizen wouldn't know he exists, or the chance of it is slim to 0.

Isshin in your opinion was an extremely well known shinigami whom is more powerful than the old fart(due to the asskicking seen thus far) whom not even 5 chapters ago explicitly stated he was the strongest shinigami even born by far in over a thousand years? And to top it off if you assume that Yamato wasn't lying that places Isshins age at over a thousand years despite most approaching even half that age being old and gray when he doesn't even have a gray hair on his head or manly chest?

Why yes it does seem plausible to me that the guy in charge of all the shinigami in his section wouldn't know about a person stronger than him under his command that can accomplish more than he could with bankai before even using a shikai. Even considering that there would/could be many other shinigami groups/command centers you're ignoring the fact that Yamato explicitly stated he was the strongest one out of ALL shinigami.

And you wish to make snarky comments about people's intelligence when you cant even remember (or refuse to acknowlege?) facts from less than a month ago that invalidate your arguments completely?

Who said anything about Isshin being stronger then Yamamoto? Stop with the straw man argument. There's absolutely nothing even insinuated in the past two chapters to infer this. On the contrary, Yama-ji was light years ahead of Aizen which is why he made his own little special arrancar hax mod to deal with Ryuujin Jakka. So one can pretty reliably state just off this fact alone that there are more then likely shinigami's who fall in the power gap between Aizen and Yamamoto, especially since we know there's a whole cast of characters yet to be introduced.

Yama stated he was the strongest born in the last 1000 years, we get it, but obviously Aizen is a LOT fucking stronger than anyone knew about, even without the Hougyfucku, it is fair game for kubo to pull the same shit with Isshin. There are still assumptions that Aizen and Isshin are related, there are assumptions that Isshin is royal gaurd (which does not necessarily mean he is stronger than yama, nor does it mean yama is the strongest shinigami out there due to us having no knowledge of the royal gaurd). Isshin could be any strength, shit, kubo could turn around and have Isshin open his shirt and go "look lol, urahara made me a hougyfucku too".

It should be VERY clear to everyone by now that this writer doesn't care what was written in the manga in the past, and doesn't care up to and including what was written in the last chapter even as proven by the "Human/Shinigami" line. There is no reason to even try to link chapters together even if they are one after the other, they are just numbered pages that release in a certain order that pretty much means nothing other than to keep it organized. The only thing that matters, is whats written on the current issue right now. Stop with the "His facial expression meant this!" and "But aizen said this sentence!" because none of it will fucking matter next week when kubo writes something else retarded.
