Gin's shikai can apparently trace out a circle with a given radius as fast as he can swing his arm, giving the points closer to the tip significant angular velocity.

The simple observation that it does the same thing with a circle 26 km wide means the blade is moving stupid fucking fast.

The arrows near the center are how far something would go if released at the same speed as that portion of the radius is moving, and increases as you move further out at the same speed, of course.

Haven't we seen Gin's sword to be flexible? Doesn't that change how fast the whole actually goes when he swings it. Also it should just be lying on the floor if you go far off enough.

I never understood Komamura's Bankai.. Isn't his Shikai just the sword sans the giant? Seems an ominous sword that strikes as he does and isn't hindered by a giant would be better, but enough on that.

Byakuya's is actually the perfect one to prove Max's point. His Shikai is 1000 tiny blades which scatter and reflect the light to look like petals. His Bankai is millions of tiny blades which do the same thing. All the other forms are created by forcing those tiny blades together to magnify his power. Tousen's too to an extent. Instead of momentarily cutting off the senses for a single target, it creates a dome that cuts off the sense as long as the dome is up.

All that aside, at least to me, it feels that Gin's Shikai was changed to accommodate this Bankai. When he used it on Ichigo, Hitsuguya, and even in Momo's flashback (although this might be the one exception, since it could be interpreted that he fired it and swung it all in one attack..), it was always an extending shot. Even the release "Shoot to Kill" suggests that it fires out, not extends permanently. Saying that it's 100 sword lengths long and capable of being held that long after never using it that way, then showing this Bankai does make it seem kinda lame. However, imo, that's at least in part because of how he's using it here. Like Max said, the fact that Gin can swing it like a normal sword, even though it's crazy long, is pretty impressive. Imagine if he was using it against an army, not a single target. Especially at long range, if he could move the tip miles by the flick of his wrist, that's actually a pretty awesome ability.

My theory is Komamura had a shitty bankai because no one likes or cares for Komamura, rofl.

I just suffer from an old addiction... making characters for pen and paper RPG's, Palladium Books mainly.

The idea of playing around with a sword like that is fun, it's a big part of why I keep reading bleach despite the stupid shit.

really seems to me that it was just Hitsugayguy talking about his own super large attacks. Though I would like to believe he knew about Gin's bankai, I just don't think Kubo had that much insight on the subject at the moment. Maybe he did though. We'll never know.

Aizen's bankai is actually mind control, when he hypnotized everyone back in soul society years ago with his shikai he also used his bankai on kubo and started writing the manga himself that day.

Now you know why aizen is so strong and overpowered. No one can be stronger than him if he doesn't write it.

He's also actually Madara, which is why whenever someone tries to hit Madara they just go right through him... cause you know he's a few pages back in shonen jump and not really there, he's hiding in the Bleach manga.

It's one thing to be able to wipe out a bunch of people with no spiritual presence. Even Tatsuki with her minimal influence from being around Ichigo was able to resist Yami's ability. Presumably Gin's is significantly more powerful since he was surprised when Ichigo stopped it.
