I think he's talking about normal humans. Because the gap is so big, just the pressure of his reiatsu kills them, but to stronger people(Ichigo's team/SS/Gin/etc) it's just weight. Kind of like how strong reiatsu pressure would make people fall to one knee or whatever.

Reread the panel and it's still a logic fuckup since according to that last panel anyone who got near Aizen like for instance that last fight we just spent several chapters reading should have consisted of everyone getting disintegrated. And actually. how is Gin not disintegrated?

Assumed it meant only people with weak Reiatsu would have that happen. It's the same thing as when Nanao couldn't breathe when she got close to Yamamoto during the Rescue Rukia arc. Only difference is instead of a VC getting close to the Captain Commander, you have a normal person with a SLIGHT amount of reiatsu getting close to what is currently the strongest person in the Bleach universe that we've seen. With the gap that much bigger it's no surprise instead of mild breathing problems he didn't explode into a bloody mist, which would have looked alot cooler honestly.

Ah true, now that I look back at it. Ichigo forced the moves out instead of him sitting down with the sword and actually learning about them, which is why they stated that in earlier chapters duh.

So I take it all the Zanpaktou's have different forms then? I wonder why Zangetsu goes younger though I wonder if Hollow Ichi would be younger if he went in there with Bankai on haha

This is kinda what I was going to suggest about recent Bleach chapters.

People have been bitching about "The Final Getsuga Tensho" and whatnot but it kinda makes sense.. Stay with me here:

Ichigo never learned a new move in his Bankai state. The black Getsuga Tensho we all know is Hollow Ichigo's ability not Ichigo's. He even says he copied it from him. He did learn regular Getsuga Tensho while in Shikai from Zangetsu but in Bankai the move is not his. Think about it. Everytime after he got Bankai he has relied on his Hollow's powers through the Black Getsuga Tensho everytime he used it. He's never advanced in training on his own. I think all the "Final" part means is he's going to learn the true power of his sword in Bankai and not using his Hollow's power anymore.

That's how I think Kubo's trying to explain it anyway. He could have had described it differently like Isshin saying: "Your going to learn your true Bankai power!" but whatever..

Instead of Kubo saying "Final Getsuga Tenshou." He should of said "The True Getsuga Tenshou."

The status check is done at the door. You have to enter with your bankai on, doesnt count if you turn it on inside.

what makes less sense is that him actually learning to use his bankai is being compared to being able to fight 3 captains who have centuries of experience with bankais.

It makes sense because they weren't really trying to win! That way we can keep the power levels arbitrary, and make people as strong/weak as needed for our fanfics!!

I'm guessing that given the hints dropped in this chapter, and the implications of "final," that the final move is a self-sacrificing technique that either gives up all spiritual power (sounds familiar) for an attack or kills the person completely. Zangetsu's only interest to this point seems to be preserving the spiritual world that he's in, and that's why I'm guessing it's not a move zanpakutous normally give up readily.

I Don't see Isshin purposefully making his son learn a move that would kill him. Especially with the whole, Dead wife, Ichigo/sisters his only family, etc etc.

If anything it might be a Spiritual pressure thing.

I'm still at a loss for why Tensa Zangetsu looks any different from Zangetsu himself.

It's not like Ichigo didn't use Bankai in his world before (see: hollow ichigo fight) although technically Shirosaki was in control.

Why the hell would a zan spirit look different just because of a different release stage? It just feels like crappy developing all over again. Whatever though... if it results in Ichigo getting stronger and learning some new shit then at least it's not a total waste... I mean, it can't get any worse than the Espada plot that was just forgotten and wasted and used to fill 3 years of manga.

Maybe giving it to him will make his inner world all rainy. Old man Zangetsu said he had a problem with that, and can't really think of a reason why this one wouldn't teach it to him apart from a 'you're not worthy' situation...

And nothing is worse than the Espadas.. worthless Halibel...
