Aizen has just taken the Hogyoku from Rukia. Ichigo arrives to save Rukia and is shortly followed by all the Captains.
A fight breaks out and everyone is incapacitated except for Aizen, Gin and Ichigo.
Gin finally has his chance to betray Aizen, however Aizen uses the hogyoku to turn into a butterfly and cuts down Gin.
Ichigo is now the only hope left in stopping Aizen.

So, who can give me a valid reason as to how some quick editing and the deletion of 242 chapters wouldn't put us in the same spot as we are now, if not better off?
