And someone should brush Kubo up on the Nazi regime. I mean, I know that symbol was around before Hitler, but still. At least it wasn't so over obvious in his original bankai's form.

It's a reverse facing manji, symbol for "all" or "eternality" for Buddhist temples.

I'm more tired that people can't just let swastikas go when they aren't blatantly in the same classic nazi style of a slant on white circle with red background, or used promoting fascism or white supremacy or some other BS.

This was a really lazy chapter even for Kubo, this almost an exact copy of a typical DB power up:

Old enemy sacrifices himself to fight enemy (There was Piccolo in the saiyan saga, Vegeta versus the ginyu force, an here we have Gin against Aizen)

Main character arrives with lighting speed and picks someone up

He looks around and sees who still alive

Enemy can't sense any energy in him, feels he is no threat (this one doesn't even make sense in from what we've seen in Bleach)

Villain gets overwhelmed and surprised by the hero


Atleast in DB it was somewhat fun

I'm telling you... Ichigo better kick some ass this time or Aizen better have some inside help from the Royal Guard.

If he fails to kick Aizen's ass, Kubo fails completely as a writer.

At least he showed some sympathy for Gin. I liked that part. It was definitely better than the last ton of chapters we've had with Ichigo.

lol my fiance watched the last couple episodes of anime with me.. he has only watched as far as the soul society arc before, it was pretty funny as I was trying to explain to him what was going on, the amount of times his only response was "but...WHY?That makes no sense!"
