This was quite fun I must say, and one of the reasons Bleach must continue. (Probably the only reason, seeing how I'm not a fat japanese Shonen executive)

Bleach is great, I don't see why everybody keeps crying about it all the time.

Bleach is a decent manga... not as amazing as I once thought. He could have actually ended it at the end of Rescue Rukia Arc (take 6 months - 2 year break type quitting) with a major cliffhanger. Instead he fucked up the pacing of his own manga thereafter. He fixed the pacing, but then wrote himself into a corner because he didn't fix a good number of his plotholes and instead decided to opt for silly retcons.

You can go to any number of forums (minus one), Kubo's Twitter, Jump reviews and see the same bitching. That happens when the story turns for the worst, you know. :\

I'm actually happy he ended the Arc -- it had it's cool moments and drawings, but the plot was getting just too painful with Aizen-troll spam. He (Kubo) really needs to take a longer break and refocus into his story if he's willing to extend it. What people don't know is that when Kubo isn't bullshitting he can plot out a hell of a story that backs up his art.

Thats not true, Kubo has never really written a good plot. Kubo is at his best when he doesn't try to write a plot and keeps it at the most simple. He's written 3-4 arcs and half of them have had "save Ichigo's love interest" as the conflict.

I think you forgot the first three Arcs then -- Agent of Shinigami (School Arc) Soul Society: Entry, & Soul Society: Rescue Rescue Arcs. They are still highly regarded as the best of his work in Bleach bar-none. They were also actually planned in advance somewhat (idea wise) and showed he could go between a lighthearted mood and serious tone, as well as had decent comical value. You are assuming he never tries to write a plot, but that actually started happening (and was noticeable) after the Rescue Arc. Actually around the same time he changed up his art style and started making it less original and more run-of-the-mill shounen.

The fact that you mentioned he made another "rescue arc" (actually part of a larger arc) just proves that he started to lose focus on where he was going or just stopped caring with the ideas. Then the mass trolling and power ups of the mega boss. What he wrote is much different from what he used to write (example: When Aizen was found out to be the mastermind behind Rukia's execution, it was a mindblowing revelation to just about everyone within the Bleach community).

He tends to read back in his own manga for ideas, but it seems like skimming rather than actual reading (hence the various retcons he's employed).

Even more so if there's no action, or that it just explains his dad like he claimed that he would do some time back

I'm actually very interested in it for the first time in a while; I'm curious how the series will go from here.
