Nah, the amount of reiatsu a shinigami is inherently born with determines the rate they age at. It was explained in one of the Databooks.

I wouldn't put too much thought into the "Aizen is Immortal" comment, probably another shitty translation by mangastream again. SleepyFan translations are usually up late Friday.

Yeah, Aizen's supposed immortality would seem a poor match for that 12,000+ year sentence they gave him. Probably a mistranslation.

That aside, slaughtering half of Soul Society, deceiving everyone for well over a century, and plotting to wipe out a mortal town in a grand scheme to take over heaven... and all they were gonna give him is 12,000 years?

"Oh, mouth off to US, will ya? THAT'LL earn ya another 6,000." For real?

Not that anyone cares. The sentence is 18,800 years. Then it was raised to 20,000

It's still applying 18,000 years to an immortal that almost destroyed everything (because he's totally going to reform before then and come out a changed man with no axe to grind whatsoever), and seeing fit to tack on another couple thousand years just for being lippy, because that's really the big issue here.

I'm not sure how Aizen is immortal but I'm guessing after 20,000 years in prison he will lose most of his powers. Which then might make it possible to give him the death penalty.

Royal Guard is probably going to be so powerful they can one shot Aizen. Which will then make me wonder why they didn't purify all the hollows on a free weekend

So, it struck me...

What just happened in Bleach would be kinda like Madara starting his war, all the battles taking place, Naruto facing off with him, and then he says.

"Now I will use the ultimate 9 tails technique, which will then set me back to the same level I was at after the Chunin exams."

To which Madara replies: "That's ok, I decided I don't even need the 10 tails anymore, oh wait, blargh I am defeated."
