Kubo made it super obvious that the loudmouthed new girl he added will be the most open about her feelings towards Ichigo after their paths crossed. And, incoming Riruka x Ichigo from obsessed fans. Orihime never had a chance.

If you're trying to claim being around Ichigo was the reason for Chad's powers manifesting, that doesn't rule out being a Fullbringer from the start. At most, it put him in situations where he could figure out his abilities, with the new group finally filling him in on some missing pieces, like how his powers felt Hollow-like while in HM. Plotkai by proxy, I guess.

Otherwise, I'm kind of indifferent on the hottie thing. I know some here like the Bleach humor, but I've never really felt it done well as I favor subtlety over slapstick/in-your-face-punchlines. I'd rather not see an annoying tsundere pop up here, but it might be one of the few stereotypes Kubo's yet to peg in his oversized cast of underdeveloped characters.

Saying that Chad suddenly got his powers because of a hollow attacking him when it was stated it was because of Ichigo, and then Aizen saying it was the Hogo, is a huge retcon.

Otherwise, since all we know about Chad's family is his grandfather, we really don't have any effin' clue if his parents got attacked by a hollow at some point or not. Ichigo's powers may have served as a catalyst for them awakening, but that's not to say they never would have eventually. At best, all we've seen of Chad's training his him getting beaten up by Renji. There's been no real dialogue on his progress, though him holding his hands toward the sand and it pushing away could be perceived a few ways, one of them being communicating with the soul of the sand, so to speak.

Far as the rest of the friends go, Uuryu had his Quincy abilities beforehand. We're still left hanging on Orihime's origins, with the whole power bleed a hypothesis by Urahara if I'm remembering that right. Of course, Urahara isn't perfect, but I'm curious if he also knows about Fullbringers. There's Tatsuki and her vague awareness, on top of her and Keigo at least not exploding within range of Aizen. However, we saw no sign that they had gained any kind of ability (would imagine they'd have tried it if that was the case), and obviously we haven't seen much conflict in this arc to possibly test them in that respect, too.

As for Ichigo's sisters, if he's some kind of special child, it stands to reason that they also possess that same hybrid mix unless Isshin's a cheating ho and Ichigo conveniently forgot about his siblings coming from a mother who's no longer around. They probably won't wind up as powerful, as maybe the hollow mix diluted, but perhaps this all goes back to the hint Isshin dropped about not being able to protect their mother. She probably got attacked before Grand Fisher and that resulting conflict could've led to his power loss.

Anyway, the producers of the anime said that the anime is continuing and that there may be another long filler arc to let the manga get ahead.

Yes, Kubo said he wasn't feeling well so they're giving him time to rest.

So what's going on in the anime atm? I haven't watched it since Aizen was cutting captains down left and right and then it went to some shitty filler episode(s). Is it still filler or was that only for a few episodes? Are they getting to the final showdown between Aizen and Ichigo? Not that there's probably going to be much to that episode...

For those of us who are too lazy to download (or who just prefer watching the dubs on TV) Adult Swim will be showing Ep. 188 this weekend, which is the tail end of the Capt. Amagai/bakoto filler arc. Storyline is better than I thought, even with a couple large holes..
