Never.
Dammit I just cleared out my photobucket account earlier and it had some amazingly bad screenshots from that Amagay arc, had a good laugh seeing them again
I deleted most tho D:Spoiler: show
How dare you delete them all.
And no, that's a definite retcon. What we saw (and explained to us) is that Chad got his powers not only from interacting with Ichigo (which is actually a mini-retcon in and of itself, as it was explained later) and his massive power, and his very first interaction with a Hollow that left a "scar" on him Now he suddenly has Hollow-esque powers that were passed down to him through the womb of his mother? Pfft. If Kubo wanted to tie up a retcon real nice, he would have made Kuugo say "Fullbringers are not only people with powers passed down to them by their mothers, but also by hollow attacks if they have a strong spirit of heart" or some nonsense. Also saying "Chad is not a Fullbringer, but his powers are very similar to ours" would have worked.
Case in point, back then when Kubo imagined Chad, he thought of him as someone who would be scarred by a Hollow, then gain powers from that chance occurrence. But now, he had those powers all along, but they were "awakened" (Kubo doesn't even try to mention this happening).
Are you basing that "When Kubo imagined..." stuff on some kind of interview? Because I'm pretty much going by what's being told in the story with a bit of reading in between the lines, which seems to be something people hate doing for Bleach for some reason and just wanna bitch for the sake of bitching. For as much as Chad's lol'd at, I'm surprised some even "care" this much. At this point, I'm just expecting a bit too much time will be spent on him only for him to get owned by some new baddie again.
It doesnt feel like a retcon to me. You're assuming that Aizen said to Ichigo that he was the one and only cause for his friend's power. The way I read it, it was more along the line of Ichigo's presence favored the development of his friends, who might have not found out about their latent power otherwise.
Chad's was infected by hollow when he was in his mother's womb, Ichigo's presence made that latent power appears and evolve to the point it is now.
That was always how I read it.
When Chad was first introduced, he was protecting that canary from a Hollow. Granted, he couldn't see it, but he sensed it. Later on, during the Hueco Mundo arc it was noted that Chad's powers bore more similarity to Hollows than Shinigamis.
Unless Ichigo's reiatsu was spilling over long before he even became a Shinigami, I'd say Chad already possessed some latent spiritual power.
I'm fairly sure that was the whole plot starter before rukia was captured....and even through SS....and even through HM...was that ichigo ALWAYS had massive spiritual energy that over time gave his friends powers as well (honestly the kubo aizen retcon is just plain stupid, idc what was written about him "Planning" it, fuck that.). Considering if you remember he was able to break out of rukia's kido as a mere human (inb4 lolrukia).
Seriously, if we ignore Aizen's whole diatribe about the dragonball and his "just as planned" nonsense the story makes so much more sense. As much sense as Bleach will ever make at least. I'm still hoping for a chapter where Urahara flat-out says Aizen had no idea what he was talking about.
If you take Aizen out of the story, Bleach actually makes way more sense.
And how many years of trolling Aizen has caused?
There is nothing to retcon here. Aizen and company wanted to take out the spirit king, and to accomplish their objective, they experimented on Ichigo's mother to create the hybrid they needed. Ichigo's father probably backed out at some point, but Aizen managed to keep the plan in motion.
Aizen's goal is still kinda retarded and nonsensical, and the way he can predict everyone's behavior is equally stupid, but from a technical standpoint, it doesn't need to be retconned. All we need to know is that Aizen planned Ichigo's birth and power progression.
And for the love of god, stop making me defend Kubo, it leaves dirty taste in my mouth. His writing is terrible, and the plot development is awful, I just don't see the contradiction or retcon some of you are talking about.
Here is the chapter we have waited 2 weeks for~

I actually enjoy some of the comedy...
Another chapter with decent comic images that could have been done in 5 panels![]()
I laffed. At this point I'm wondering if he's just trying to let the anime catch up since I don't see this being more than 5 minutes of animation per chapter.
No, he's just keeping his usual pace...
Considering this is most likely the anime's last season.. I don't really give a fuck if it 'catches up'.
I believe the last season thing was kind of a translation error.
