Even with the sword "fused" to his arm, the lack of a back end to the handle bothered me. Otherwise enjoyed the episode, but part of me almost hated being spoiled by having read the manga.

The complete lack of emotion, the 'disinterested' eyes, the hair on top of the fact he's wearing all black (he has all along, but he was never emo before). Jesus, he is a quintessential emo kid. The only think he's missing is the black nail polish, and I bet he's got that on under his sword.

Edit: It's not even the long hair, it's the fact he's peering through it like you see in every fucking emo picture that has ever been taken.

This guy just cut up a bunch of his buddies, is trying to kill all of his friends and family and his response is to show up with a frown and talk in a monotone voice. Just a few non-filler episodes ago he was yelling and getting riled up, now because some guy stabbed him while crying he's suddenly turned into a scene kid. His attitude is completely different, even when he was confident before he wasn't constantly frowning. Show a single scene from the episode where he had anything besides a frown on his face. Google emo and tell me what you see, 9/10 faces with a frown, because that's the 'look'.

I wish I was good ad editing. I've always wanted to edit down everything after the SS arc. Could probably edit out a hundred episodes worth of uselessness, not even counting filler episodes.

He sounds depressed and has a disinterested attitude, his eyes look sad, he's wearing all black, he's got the emo dew, he's even making emo poses in every frame (peering through the long hair with the sad face). I guess I shouldn't criticize a show with so many fanboys around. Tell me one other episode he's made that face in. Tell me one other time you remember him looking like he's pouting in every frame?


Edit:
I liked the action, I just don't like they way they portrayed his power up. Does his next level involve eye shadow and black nail polish? Does he cut himself for his bankai? They completely changed his attitude from this guy who's struggling to defend the ones he loves to "I'm deep because I don't smile," which is the classic emo personality.
