I don't see what's the big deal, why should Ichigo be smiling? He knows that to beat Aizen, he has to use his true Bankai, and what that will do to him. This isn't exactly a happy moment for him even if he wins. Long hair with no real definition? He just got out of a hyperbolic time chamber, I don't think he's gonna fucking stop at a barber shop on the way to fighting Aizen, I don't think any are awake atm anyway. Wearing black? Bitch EVERYONE WEARS BLACK IN THE SOUL SOCIETY, some wear white over it. You really gonna use wearing black as an excuse for emo in Bleach?

Hah, he is actually pretty damn emo too, more in attitude. I never said that being emo would prevent them from doing something badass. You just read that into my words. You can say what you want, but I have to deal with scene kids all the time. I don't hate emo kids or anything, I just think this tred that looking like an emokid is cool that's popping up in Japan isn't something that I appreciate and seeing it bleed into an anime I actually keep up with makes me, well, emo.

The next episode should pretty much explain why he's "emo" right now. Personally, I perceive it more as confidence without the arrogance (Kenpachi would have that covered). He knows what he has to do, so he's doing it. You could say he displayed similar characteristics once he decided to not get hurt against Grimmy.

Is anyone else surprised that out of all the things Kareface could have complained about he complains about older Ichigo's attitude during an incredibly important turning point in the plot (lolBleachplotwut?!) if anything I was more upset with the 5~7min of recap they have during every god damn episode!

Yeah, I would've been pissed if he rolled in and tried to tell a joke or something in poor Kubo style, too. Palming Aizen's face was good enough, though.

For me it just seemed out of place. I enjoy watching bleach, but not I'm into the show enough to read the manga. There are points when I really do like the show, but trying to redo the main charter as dark and brooding when his charter has been nothing of the sort for the last 180 episodes struck me as odd. I have the same problem when naruto gets all fucking crybaby over sauske. There are shows that can pull off crybaby, or 'emo', however I think it just feels out of place to have someone who comes across as uncaring AND is fighting to save his friends.

How about normal? What was wrong with how he was fighting him before? The scene where he landed his attack on aizan for the first time was great. Obviously no one wants him to become the huge vagina he's been on and off for most of this arc, I just don't see what's wrong with him being the same old guy he's always been.

I haven't bothered to watch the anime in a long time. I've been waiting on this episode. Is the music new? It's the first time I've heard that Ichigo theme as well as the music after Ichigo and Aizen began their battle.
