Maybe it's because it's his family and he doesn't want to put them in an immediate danger if a fight were to break out knowing full well Tsukishima(sp?) would follow him? He kinda did the same thing with Aizen except he just bitch-slapped him into a new area to get him away from his friends.

I don't know, Ichigo's battle mentality hardly ever makes sense.

Also, the alternative would be that Ichigo would have to Fullbring in front of his friends and family and risk them still trying to stop him from hurting Tsukishima by holding him back. If Tsukishima wanted them dead, they'd be dead. Instead, they're the ultimate human shield against Ichigo's attacks. Plus, that's a hell of a mindfuck when everyone you know and love is acting like someone you think of as an enemy is the best guy ever. Ichigo's pretty weak mentally to begin with, so that sort of shit pushes him right over the edge to pussy-hood and sends him fleeing.

Good chapter; interested in seeing where this goes and how all they back-alley shit with Isshin and Urahara fits in.

Weak or not, the guy hold Ichigo's friends and family in hostage. Running away is kinda stupid at this point when he could just ask him to come talk outside and drag him away.

This all kind of reminds me of way back when Orihime first triggered her powers against that Hollow with the mind control seeds. Naturally, she didn't want to hurt Chizuru, Tatsuki, or any of the other students, really, but I guess the location and circumstances favored her a bit more in going all out. As is, Karin has a vague awareness of Ichigo. Tatsuki was technically becoming spiritually aware before that plot point kind of disappeared (Silly anime filler aside), and while the others kinda/sorta endured Aizen's presence, I'm not sure how that'd translate to seeing Ichigo go Fullbring. Then again, I can't recall if all their memories got fudged with after the Deicide stuff.

If Tsukishima really wanted to be a bitch, he could've just taken them all out like he did Uuryu. Taking them hostage might seem sound on some level, but we also went through a few chapters where Ichigo basically had it drilled in his head that he couldn't take him just yet, and he certainly has reason for his confidence to be shot with his lack of shinigami powers or fullbring mastery. Deicide Ichigo might've been able to palmface him right there at the house and fight him without concern for hostages, but in this state, it could've gotten messy. Asking him to step outside wouldn't really change things, either, since the others could just watch from the door, run out if Ichigo starts getting rough, etc.. First part of this paragraph in mind, running probably was the smartest thing for Ichigo to do since Tsukishima hadn't employed violence right off the bat and certainly had Ichigo scouted well with his social connections.

I think the bigger question is whatever this 'trap' was that got some of the other fullbringers. For all we know, this could be another head game on Ichigo and suddenly we see Ginjou acting under Tsukishima's influence. As is, Ginjou was doubtful of this ability Ichigo had mentioned to him, but it could've been too late for him by that point.

Reading back a few chapters, I did not see where Ichigo sustained a cut/stab like the one we see Inoue take. Unless simply coming into contact with Tsukishima's sword allows him to implant ideas into others, then Ichigo should be okay. If all it takes is contact, then Ichigo and Ginjou would be affected since Tsukishima was able to nearly cut through Ichigo's sword during their little tussle; and Ginjou sustained a cut near his eye that actually drew blood in that same fight.

After looking back through those chapters, I'm starting to wonder if Tsukishima actually took off after Ichigo was "saved" like Ginjou said. If he was under Tsukishima's power after that cut then he could've been lying and it was at that time that the other Fullbringers were affected. That would beg the question "Why train Ichigo to master his Fullbring?" So either Tsukishima has plans for Ichigo that require him to be stronger, or I'm just overthinking. :D

My thought was that Tsukishima(?)'s power was to implant himself into other peoples memories as if he's always been there. its what it felt like (Them calling him family/etc).

I took it as she said something that you say to someone you've known for a while. Also, mid panel makes it seem like she made a joke with him, so doesn't seem like she's unhappy he called.

I'm curious why Tsukishima put Ishida in the hospital. He's arguably the strongest of Ichigo's friends, so maybe he was too powerful for Tsukishima's ability, or Kubo just came up with the power after that confrontation..?

I swore it was said at one time orihime is stronger because she can wipe things out of existence or somesuch. Could be wrong. I just assumed Ishida was hospitalized because he put up a fight before aizen 2.0 landed the blow to hypnotize him. Chad and Orihime were both caught off guard.

To me this feels like Ichigo is in dream mode and none of this is real. Ichigo is basically just in a coma and they're having to do this to get him out of it and back into the spiritual world. Kubo's that bad of a writer I'm betting it's not far off from "It was all a dream, WHAT A TWIST!!"
