Didn't realize or remember that Ichigo was ridiculously strong as a Shinigami and obviously has total mastery of all of the techniques + battle experience

I mean, it's still possible that his fighting skills/physical dexterity is better, too.

I initially figured long ago that Ginjou was at least an ex-shini, simply because of how he knew a lot about SS and looked at Ichigo (and tried to have Ichigo look at him) like a brother - like they'd both been through something similar.

The only thing I'm worried about at this point is our resident Aizen. Where did he go, and, more importantly, are the rest of Ginjou's crew all ex-shini or some way or did he simply draw them into the fold through that "memory mind control"?

Also, I found it interesting that Yama ordered every captain and VC to pour their reiatsu in - and then it shows Shinji, Yoruichi, and Isshin had added their reiatsu... wonder if that means Shinji and Yoruichi were reinstated (or Urahara went to them as well). Hopefully it means we haven't seen the last of Shinji and co.

That'd be interesting seeing as there's no point in keeping the Vizards and others banished now. Though I wouldn't put it past Central 46's retarded government style to refuse to do so. Maybe because it's mostly from movies/fillers but Soul Society's go to solution and/or first reaction to every single threat always seems to be to arrest Ichigo.

You guys are assuming that the Vaizards even want to be reinstated though.

When you're accused of being a murderer, treated like a criminal, serve several years in jail for a crime you didn't commit, then suddenly get acquitted because someone comes across evidence that proves your innocence, you'd have to be a damn saint not to be bitter towards the same society that forsake you without considering any shred of innocence on your part.

The fact that Kisuke was even able to have an audience with Yamamoto is evidence that some sort of pardon has been given. At the very least I'd say those that were banished aren't anymore, but whether they want to rejoin the Gotei 13 is probably not an option - from either point of view.

I'd like to look at them as unofficial members of Soul Society. People they can turn to for help if need be. Kind of like how Yamamoto outsourced the job of getting Captains into Hueco Mundo to Urahara.

There are still the gaps in captains seats, though. As is, this is technically the first time we'd seen Urahara back in SS, no less amongst the Captains and not being arrested. Of course, we already knew he and Yama were chummy since they came to an agreement about constructing the pillars for the fake Karakura. Aizen also slaughtered the old 46, which presumably handled the Vizard case and such in the past, and I'm kind of blanking on any major non-filler moves made by them since. Ideally, I would hope they'd rescind the charges made on Urahara, and by proxy Yoruichi and Tessai. The rest were technically condemned to die as 'monsters' as a result of the Hollowfication. Obviously they seem to have things in check now, but could still be seen as perversions in the shinigami world... just not ones that need killed.

I could maybe see Shinji and Kensei going back to fill in 2 of the 3 missing captain spots, but not sure if they would and who among the others could possibly take the third despite Love being an ex-captain. I don't see Yoruichi ever going back. She's too free-spirited and can get away with her lifestyle with Urahara.

The only reason Yoruichi left was because she helped Urahara and Tessai escape. That made her a criminal and she couldn't go back to SS because she would have faced the same sentence (losing Shinigami powers, gtfo).
