Unohana is a healing zanpakto so no fighting there and i'm sure ken;s VC would put up a fight she's scary on her own

How do the copies in the current anime arc work? Unohana's copy tries to bind Yamamoto and he breaks out in like two seconds. If the copies have the same powers as the original, that could mean that she doesn't have much significant power outside of the healing department.

And are you sure they're his first students? I thought Yama has had the post as General Commander for a thousand years, while Unohana and the two guys has been captains for at least 310 years (not sure how long; was "at least 200 years" 110 years ago). Ukitake refers to her as "Senpai", though, and from that it seem that she'd have been there longer.

So she's supposedly slightly stronger than both Ukitake and Kyōraku, and slightly weaker than Yamamoto.

According to pure battle data, the power levels are Yam > Uno > Kyoraku > Hitsugaya > Byakuya in the top 5.

I thought it was that they were the first two Captains/Students to emerge from the Shinigami academy Yama created where as in Unohana was a Captain beforehand.

I'm not sure the Captain/Squad system existed before the Academy and such was established. Instead, it was more likely some loosely affiliated powerful shinigami that did whatever, most likely also being amongst the often mentioned noble families.

As for Yachiru, it's been hinted she has some level of power. During the save Rukia arc when one of the SS messengers showed up to relay a message to Kenpachi, she basically projected some kind of pink dragon aura at him to intimidate him. And as much as some hate talk about Kenpachi's sword, I can't help but feel there's some relationship since her apparently found her post-battle and she's always had a definite interest in him having "fun" with his fights. Battle bonehead that he is, he may very well be at one of the bankai steps and to dense to realize it. And yes, the prospect of his sword spirit being a battle-happy little girl amuses me, too.

i have a feeling ichigo is going to try and perform bankai and its not going to work since Zengetsu was his old sword spirit and this is a brand new spirit

Who's to say this is a brand new spirit? It'd be kinda of redundant for Kubo to have Ichigo revive his shinigami power only to later have revive true TRUE shinigami power. Not saying Kubo wouldn't do it but well, I hope not.
